The Permanent Coordinating Committee for Veterans Affairs and Historical Memory under the All-Russian Public Veterans Organization "Russian Veterans Union" was announced.
The initiative is implemented with the participation of the Regional Public Fund of Alexey Petrovich Maresev and is aimed at forming a unified system of coordination of activities in the field of support for veterans, preservation of historical memory and development of patriotic education.
The creation of the Committee meets the urgent task of combining the efforts of the state, society and veteran organizations to increase the effectiveness of programs and initiatives being implemented.
The main activities of the Committee will be:

- development of the system of social, medical and psychological rehabilitation,
formation and promotion of the values of heroism and service to the Fatherland,
- implementation of educational initiatives, including the "Maresev School",
- creation of a single information and analytical space.
The Committee will function as a permanent coordination and expert body, uniting representatives of the veteran community, public authorities, public organizations and the expert community.
Within the framework of the launch of activities, pilot projects aimed at practical improvement of the quality of life of veterans and the development of modern forms of patriotic education are envisaged.
“The creation of the Committee is a transition from disparate initiatives to systematic work. We are forming a platform that will allow us to unite efforts and build an effective model of support for veterans,” said Sokolov Sergey Leonidovich, a representative of the A.P. Foundation. Mareseva.
In the future, the Committee can become the basis for the formation of an interdepartmental mechanism for coordinating and implementing state policy in this area.
