The Metaphysical Space of Project Russia, Part 1

So let's start with the past. Around 1400, the Hierarchy of Teachers faced a difficult situation. As for the work of the Second Ray (which consists in the revelation of spiritual truth), there was what can be called the full objectification of that truth. The activity of the First Ray also caused intense differentiation and crystallization among the nations and governments of the world. Both of these states — uncompromising orthodoxy and political differences — have persisted for generations and are still manifest. Today we have a similar situation in the world of religion and in the world of politics. It will be so whether we consider India or America, China or Germany, whether we study the history of Buddhism with its many sects, Protestantism with its myriad warring groups, or the history of numerous philosophical schools in the East or in the West. Such a state is widespread, and public consciousness varies enormously, but this state of affairs indicates the end of the period of isolation and predicts - for many centuries - the end of a period of such a strong divergence in thought.

Having noted and observed this state of affairs for the next hundred years, the Elder Brothers of the Race convened a meeting of all branches around 1500. Their goal was to determine how to strengthen the desire for integration, which is in fact a key note of our universe order, and what measures can be taken to achieve that synthesis, unification in the world of thought, which would make possible the manifestation of the plan of the divine Life, which caused everything to exist. When the world of thought becomes one, the outer world will come to a synthetic order. Here we must remember that the Masters think in broad categories and work with large cycles of evolutionary aspiration; tiny and time cycles, small tides and ebbs of cosmic processes attract their attention to a much lesser extent. 

At that meeting, they set themselves three objectives:

1. To examine the Divine Plan as widely as possible and to refresh your minds with this vision.

2. To note what influences, or energies, are available for use in the tremendous effort they have undertaken.

3. To train the men and women who were then subject, chela, and initiated, so that at the right time they have at their disposal a suitable team of helpers on whom they could rely for centuries to come.

Two problems have emerged in connection with these aspirants:

1. They had to face the inability of even the most advanced students to maintain continuity of consciousness, an inability that even the initiates have demonstrated to this day.

 2. Teachers have found that the minds and brains of the Chela are practically insensitive to higher touches, and this condition also persists to this day. Chelas, then and now, had the aspiration and desire to serve humanity, devotion, and sometimes tolerable mental equipment, but that telepathic sensitivity, that instinctive response to hierarchical vibration, and that freedom from the lower psyche, which are the necessary prerequisites for intensive intellectual work, were strangely lacking. To them they are still dishearteningly incapable. Telepathic sensitivity is now clearly increasing as a result of the prevailing world conditions and the evolutionary trend, and this (for internal plan workers) is the most encouraging sign, but the love of mental phenomena and the inability to distinguish between the vibrations of hierarchical workers of different degrees still greatly inhibits the work.

Here you may reasonably ask: What is this plan? When I speak of the Plan, I do not mean a general Plan, such as the Plan of Evolution or the Plan for Humanity, to which we have assigned a somewhat unimportant term, the "discovery of the soul." These two aspects of the Design for our planet are taken for granted and represent only ways, processes and means leading to a specific Purpose. The plan, as it is understood at present, and on which the Masters are tirelessly working, can be defined in the following words: it is the achievement of such a subjective synthesis of mankind, such a telepathic interaction, which, in the end, will destroy time. This will make available to every person all past achievements and knowledge, will open to a person the true purpose of his mind and brain, will make him the master of this equipment, and, therefore, omnipresent, and will eventually open the door of omniscience. The coming realization of the Plan will arouse in man an intellectual understanding of the divine Purpose and the desire to contribute to the attainment of this divine Purpose, for which the One for whom we live and move and exist has deemed it necessary to take embodiment. Do not think that I can tell you about this Plan as it really is. No person below the level of the initiate of the third degree can get even an approximate idea of him, let alone understand him. The development of a mechanism by which the student can connect with those who are responsible for making plans, and the acquisition of the ability to know (rather than just vaguely feel) that tiny aspect of the whole which represents the nearest step forward and for the incarnation which cooperation with them is possible, is what can be achieved by all students and should be the goal of all aspirants. Therefore, with the exception of the test students who are not yet sufficiently stable, all are able to make efforts to achieve continuity of consciousness and the awakening of that inner light, which, when it becomes visible and intellectually used, contributes to the discovery of other aspects of the Plan, especially that to which the enlightened knower is able to respond and serve it usefully.

This has been the object of training for the last 400 years, and from this fact you can draw conclusions about the exceptional patience of the Knowledgeable Race. They work slowly and cautiously, without any haste on the way to His goal, but - and now I have to give very important information - They have limited time. The explanation is in the Law of Cycles. This law defines the periods of favorable opportunity, which necessarily have their own term. During these periods of opportunity, certain forces, influences, and energies are temporarily active, and it is these Masters who try to use them.

During the above-mentioned meeting, the assembled Ministers of the race, looking ahead, noted the coming of the Age of Aquarius with its special energies and wonderful opportunities. They noted all this and tried to prepare man for this period, which will last approximately 2500 years, and which, if properly taken advantage of, will lead to the conscious and intellectual unification of the human race and thereby to the appearance of what I prefer to call a "scientifically proven brotherhood" in contrast to the sentimental shade which is now attached to this concept.

At that time, it became clear to them that two actions needed to be performed before the coming opportunities of the Aquarian Age could be effectively exploited. First of all, the consciousness of humanity must rise to the mental plane; it must expand so as to include not only the world of emotion and feeling, but also the world of intelligence. People’s minds must become broad and active, and the entire level of human intelligence must rise. Second, something had to be done to break down the barriers of isolation, exclusion and prejudice that had alienated people from each other and that they had foreseen would alienate them more and more. Cycle after cycle, people were more and more self-centered, the result of which was self-satisfaction, a sense of superiority and racial pride, which inevitably led to a deep split and the erection of world barriers between nations and between races.

The decision of the members of the Hierarchy to prepare people’s minds and work towards a more synthetic unity led them to form groups, which led to the emergence of groups of workers and thinkers whose activities have had a strong influence on our world over the past three or four centuries. So this meeting started a specific group work on clearly defined directions, with each group expressing the truth from a certain point of view and revealing a certain aspect of the knowledge of reality.

These groups are divided into four main areas: 

• Culturally, 
• political, 
• Religious
• and scientific. 

Three more types of groups have appeared recently: 

• philosophically, 
• Psychological 
• and financial. 

Of course, philosophers have always been with us, but they were mostly loners or founders of schools, who were characterized by their commitment to the teacher and isolation. Today, there are practically no outstanding figures like in the past, but there are groups that represent certain ideas. It is essential that the work of all seven groups of thinkers be recognized as part of a hierarchical program aimed at creating a specific situation and providing certain preparatory conditions, and also be recognized as playing a specific role in the work of world evolution in relation to humanity.

Under the influence of various Rays in accordance with their cycles of activity, small groups of people appeared, played their role in the general group and disappeared, often having no idea about participation in the synthesis and about their colleagues in similar groups. As can be seen by taking a historical look at any field of activity, the work they have done for the race, their contribution to the progress of the human race, is obvious. I do not have time to list all these groups, their specific contributions, a description of the work they have done or the subjective impulses that have motivated them to work. I can only indicate the direction of their aspirations and advise some enlightened historian to trace and describe the golden thread of their spiritual work in raising the mental level of the race, when they introduced a person into the world in which he lives, opening his eyes not only to the nature of matter and form, but also to the hidden depths of his own existence. Thanks to their activities, humanity is now closely connected, although not united, and is characterized by three signs:

1. Amazing interconnection and wide communication, which is carried out through radio, press, modern means of transport, telephone and telegraph.

2. Widespread philanthropic activity and an increased sense of responsibility for his brother, which was absolutely alien to people in 1500. Exoteric expressions of this in every country are movements such as the Red Cross, educational organizations, hospitals, and modern economic aid measures.

3. By separating, consciously or unconsciously, the entire human family into two basic groups: first, those who are trying to preserve the old order of things, those who are reactionary and who seek to isolate themselves. They are for dividing nationalism, borders, slavery, and servitude; they are examples of religious sectarianism and dependence on authority. They are against any modern innovations and progress. Secondly, those who see a united world in which love for God means love for one’s neighbor and in which the main motive of all religious, political and educational activities will be world consciousness and prosperity on the whole planet, and not on any part of it.

The union to which progressive men aspire does not imply neglect of any part, but involves the care and education of each part so that it may contribute to the well-being of the whole organism. It includes, for example, the proper administration of each national unit and its proper development, so that it may properly discharge its international duties, thereby forming part of the world brotherhood of nations. This concept does not imply the formation of a world state, but involves the development of a universal public consciousness that is aware of the unity of the Whole and thus concludes that, as they say, one should be for all, and all for one. Only along this path can an international synthesis be achieved, which will be characterized by political and national disinterestedness. Such a universal state of mind would not necessarily imply the need for the spread of a world or universal religion. It requires merely the recognition that any formulation of truth and faith in time and space is partial and temporally consistent with the manners and conditions of life of a given age and race. Those who hold to their particular approach to truth will nevertheless be able to realize that other approaches, other modes of expression, other terminology, and other definitions of deity may also be correct and represent aspects of truth that are more majestic and grander than a person with his present equipment is able to comprehend and express. Even the Great Ones themselves are only beginning to feel reality, and although they know the deep-hidden intermediate goals, they do not even see the ultimate goal. They also have to use such meaningless terms as Absolute Reality and Final Realization in their teachings.

So, over the past three centuries, groups have emerged and played their part, and today we are reaping the fruits of their accomplishments. In the cultural group, for example, we see poets of the Elizabethan age, musicians of Germany and the Victorian age. Also known are groups of artists - founders of famous schools that make up the glory of Europe. Two famous groups, one cultural, the other political, also played a role, one leading to the Renaissance, the other to the French Revolution. The results of their work are still felt, as the modern humanist movement with its emphasis on the past, which is realized in the present, and its search for the roots of human heritage in previous trends came out of the Renaissance. Revolutions and the determination to fight for the divine rights of man find their primary impetus in the French Revolution. The revolt, the formation of political parties, the class struggle that is raging today, and the division of each country into warring political groups were previously sporadic, but over the last 200 years have become widespread; all are the results of group activity caused by the Masters. Thanks to her, people grew, learned to think, and even if they think wrongly and conduct destructive experiments, the triumph of good is inevitable and inevitable. Temporal deprivation, depression, war and bloodshed, want and immorality can plunge unthinking people into the depths of pessimism. However, those who know and who feel the inner guiding hand of the Hierarchy know that the heart of humanity is healthy and that out of the current chaos, and, perhaps, as a result, those who will be able to master the situation and will meet the task of unification and synthesis will appear. This period is occultly called the "century of restoration of what was split at the fall." The time has come when the disconnected parts can be reunited and the whole can be restored to its original perfection.

Religious groups are also many, so many that it is impossible to list them all. There are groups of Catholic mystics who make up the glory of the West, there are also Protestants: Lutherans, Calvinists and Methodists, there are the Pilgrim Fathers (such gloomy and serious people), Huguenot and Moravian martyrs, and thousands of modern sects in each of these groups. All of them served a good purpose, prompted a person to rebel and brought him out of a state of silent submission to authority. By the force of their unique example, they brought a person to a stage where he prefers to think for himself. They defended the freedom and personal right of everyone to know.

These religious groups were mainly influenced by the Sixth and Second Rays. The cultural group emerged under the influence of the Fourth Ray, while the First Ray awakened the political activism that led to such great changes in the lives of nations. Under the impulses of the Fifth and Third Rays, groups of scientific researchers were formed, working with the forces and energies that make up the divine Life, studying the outer garment of God, searching from the outer to the inner, demonstrating to man his essential unity with all creation and his inner vital connection with all forms of life. Individuals in each legion group, but their names are not as important. The group itself and its interrelated work matter. It is interesting to note that in a scientific group, basic unity is especially noticeable, since its members are more free from sectarianism and selfish competition. This cannot be said of religious and political groups.

Compared to the many nations and myriads of people on earth, there are very few such fundamental groups. Their composition, their contribution to the development of human capabilities and their place in the Plan can be traced very easily. What needs to be emphasized is that they are all motivated by the inner, subjective side of life; they come forward under divine impulse and with concrete work; they are all at the initial stage composed of students and initiates of the lower degrees; they are all subjectively guided, step by step, by their own souls, who, in turn, consciously cooperate with the Hierarchy of the Knowers. This is the case even when the individual is completely unaware of his place in the group and of the divine mission of that group. Remember also that there was no failure, although the individual did not notice success at all. What distinguishes these workers is what they build for future generations. That those who follow them often fail to live up to expectations, and those who respond to their work downplay the ideal, is a bitter truth, but the original group systematically carries out its plan, achieving its goal. This, of course, eliminates pessimism and demonstrates the exceptional power of subjective activity.

Let us consider in more detail the three relatively recent groups that I have already mentioned. Their work is curiously different from that of the other groups, and they include representatives of all the radiation groups, although the members of the third group (the group of financiers) are mainly on the Seventh Ray, the Ray of the ceremonial organization. These three groups appeared in the following order: first philosophers, then psychologists and businessmen.

A group of relatively recent philosophers is already exerting a powerful influence on thinking, while the ancient schools of Asian philosophers are only beginning to influence the Western way of thinking. Through analysis, correlation and synthesis, a person develops the ability to think, and the abstract mind can unite with the concrete. Therefore, thanks to their work, this human sensitivity of such interest, consisting of three outstanding characteristics: instinct, intelligence and intuition, is brought into a state of intellectual coordination. Instinct connects man with the animal world, intelligence unites him with his fellows, and intuition reveals to him the life of God. All three are the subject of philosophical inquiry, since the subject of philosophical inquiry is the nature of reality and the means of cognition.

The two groups that have recently emerged are psychologists who work according to the Delphic precept “Man, know yourself” and financiers who are the custodians of the means by which a person lives on the physical plane. These two groups, by their specificity and despite their differences, are more synthetic in their fundamental aspects than all the others. One group is concerned with the study of the human race, the different types of people, the mechanism used by man, the motives and characteristics of man, as well as the purpose - obvious or hidden - of his existence. The other group controls and disposes of the means by which man exists; it controls all that can be turned into energy, and exercises dictatorship in all social relations, trade, and exchange transactions. In its power, all the many formal objects that modern man considers essential to his lifestyle. Money, as I said earlier, is just crystallized energy, or vitality, what the student of the East calls pranic energy. It is the concretization of etheric force. Thus, it is externalized life energy, and this form of energy is under the control of a financial group. The financial group has emerged as the last of all groups, and its work (take it) is most directly planned by the Hierarchy, because it causes the most far-reaching consequences on earth.

Now that centuries have passed since the sixteenth-century meeting, these external groups have fulfilled their purpose and have served the most outstanding service. The results of their work have reached a stage where they have an international impact, and their influence is no longer limited to one nation or race. The hierarchy is now faced with another situation that requires a lot of attention. It must assemble and link the various threads of action energy and the various streams of thought forces that have emerged from the work of the groups since 1500. It will also have to neutralize some trends aimed at further differentiation. The latter inevitably takes place when the force comes into contact with the material world. The initial impulses carry the potentialities of both good and evil. As long as the form occupies a secondary and relatively insignificant place, we call it good. In this case, the situation is controlled by the idea, not its expression. Over time, when the energy of thought affects matter and smaller minds master this particular type of energy or are energized by it, evil begins to make its presence tangible. After all, it manifests itself as selfishness, isolation, pride, and other traits that have done so much harm to the world.

About seventeen years ago, the Masters met and came to an important decision. Just as it was decided at a conference held about 1500 to gather from the masses of people a group of workers of different directions and to set before them the task of inspiring humanity and expanding human consciousness, so at the last meeting it was considered necessary to gather from many groups one group, in which there would be (as in the Hierarchy itself) people of all races, all types and types of activity. This team has a specific mission and some facts may be listed as follows:

First of all, it is an attempt to externalize the Hierarchy on the physical plane, or a small working copy of this essential subjective education. All its members live in physical bodies, but must work exclusively subjectively, using an internal sensitive apparatus and intuition. This group should be formed of men and women of all nations and ages, each of whom should be spiritually oriented; all of them should be conscious ministers, mentally polarized, empathetic, and inclusive.

One of the essential conditions for the composition of a group is that these people should be willing to work at subjective levels and without any recognition. They have to work behind the scenes, just like the Great Ones. Therefore, in the members of this group there should be no shadow of ambition and no pride in their race and achievements. They should be sensitive to their fellows, their thoughts and their surroundings.

This group will not seek to have a single exoteric organization, no headquarters, advertising or group name. It is a collective of conscious workers and servants of the Word, striving to fulfill the will of their soul and the plans of their group. Therefore, all true ministers on the planet belong to this group, regardless of whether their ministry is in the cultural, political, scientific, religious, philosophical, psychological or financial field. They form part of the inner group of those who work for humanity and the world’s mystics, whether they know it or not. They recognize members of their group through casual contacts related to working in the world.

This group uses the word “spiritual” in a broader sense, referring to their desire to improve humanity, inspiring people and expanding their consciousness, they also refer to tolerance, international synthetic communication, the adoption of all religions, they refer to all directions of thinking that contribute to the esoteric development of the human being.

Therefore, it is a group that does not have its own special terminology and the Bible, it does not have any creed and no dogmatic formulations of truth. The motivating impulse of each and every member of the group is love for God, which manifests itself in love for one’s fellow man. They know the true meaning of brotherhood without any racial differences. Their lives are lives of voluntary service, completely unselfish and sacrificial.

The composition of the group is known only to the Elder Brothers of the race; there is no list of names, but there are only three basic requirements:

1. A certain measure of unity between the soul and its mechanism is essential, and the inner trinity must be aligned and activated: the soul - the mind - the brain; while the connection between them is in a latent state in the majority.

2. The brain must be telepathically sensitive in two directions. He must at will perceive the world of souls and the world of people.

3. It is also necessary to have the ability to abstract, or synthetic, thinking. This allows a person to step over racial and religious barriers. In this case, he also has complete confidence in the continuity of life and life after death.

To sum up, it should be noted that groups in the past represented certain aspects of truth and showed certain ray characteristics. The new group will express all aspects of truth and will have all ray types in its composition. Most of the workers of the numerous groups carried out the individual details of the Plan, adding their share of energy to the general aspiration of mankind, however, they did so mainly without having a true understanding of their actions, without real understanding of the connection between body and soul, which allows them to conduct truly intellectual work; the exception is the few outstanding mystics, such as Master Eckhart. These groups consisted mainly of personalities with that touch of genius, which indicates a certain contact with the soul. The group now in the process of formation consists of those who are aware of the existence of the soul and have established a real and lasting connection with it; they look upon the mind, emotions and corporeal nature as mere equipment by which a person makes contacts, and their work, as they imagine it, is carried out by means of this equipment and under the guidance of the soul. They are, therefore, embodied souls working through personalities, not personalities driven by the accidental impulses of the soul. The members of the former numerous groups were all in some sense one-sidedly developed, and their talents encompassed certain specific directions. They demonstrated the ability to either write like Shakespeare, or paint like da Vinci, or create musical masterpieces like Beethoven, or change the world like Napoleon. A group worker of a new type is a well-rounded individual who is capable of doing almost everything he has a hand in, but whose main ambition is to work more on mental levels than on the physical plane. Therefore, it is suitable for the work of the Hierarchy, as it can be used in many ways, since its flexibility, experience and stability of contact can be subordinated to group needs.

Of course, the true representative of this group of a new type will appear no earlier than in many decades. He will be a real Aquarius with universal perception, high sensitivity, highly organized mental apparatus, astral equipment, responsive, first of all, to higher spiritual vibrations, a powerful controlled energy body, as well as a healthy physical body, although not very powerful in the usual sense of the word.

What is the current situation with the growth of an integrating group of mystics? I'm going to go into more detail.

In any European country, in the United States of America, in Asia and South Africa, there are students, usually not known to the general public, who think the truth. I want to draw your attention to this phrase. The most important employees of this new group, who are closest to the Great ones, are those whose everyday thinking is focused on a new ideal. It is true that their thinking can manifest itself mainly in some exoteric activity, but they are - first and foremost and always - those who live and work from a "high secret place". They act quietly and calmly, without focusing on their personalities, their own views and ideas, or their methods of doing work. They are fully aware of their own limitations, but this does not confuse them, and they continue to mentally bring to an objective manifestation that aspect of the vision, to revive and give shape to which is their mission. These are necessarily cultural and very well-read people, because in our difficult transition time they need to be aware of the world conditions and have a general idea of what is happening in different countries. They really have no nationality in the sense that they consider their country and their political preferences to be of paramount importance. They are equipped to slowly and surely shape a public opinion that will ultimately liberate man from the dogmas of religious sectarianism, national exclusiveness, and racial prejudice.

One by one, here and there, they come together and gather around them those who are free from the limitations of outdated political, religious and cultural theories. As members of the one group, they gather these aspiring souls into groups to work along specific lines and bring about the New Era of peace and goodwill. Those responding to the influence of the members of the one group still number only a few thousand out of millions. Of the four hundred accepted disciples currently working in the world, only one hundred and fifty-six are as yet mentally equipped to join this slowly forming group. They constitute the nucleus of what will become the leading force in the future. During the next twenty-five years, the influence of the one group will become powerful enough to attract the attention of politicians, provided that those of you who can perceive the powerful subjective body of thinking Souls can speak the right words, formulate concepts that accelerate the work of integration, and establish contact between the units in this group. Do everything in your power to carry out this plan; make it the essence and keynote of the work that all of you perform, wherever you may be.

So, what should be the work of the near future? I will try to formulate a program.

The first thing to do is to strengthen the bonds and establish a strong relationship between you and everyone you consider potential students working in the new group. To do this, get acquainted with the work of group leaders in different countries of the world - such as Switzerland, the United States, the Netherlands, Germany and the United Kingdom. Based on their vision of the New Age work, you can make a temporary decision. Watch them at work. Pay attention to the emphasis they place on personalities. If it seems that personal ambition determines their actions, if they choose to work in a group of mystics because of its novelty or because it gives them a certain position, intrigues their imagination or gives them a reason to gather people around them, then, without expanding contacts and keeping silent, give time and the law to correct their approach.

Second, be receptive and responsive to those who seek you out and seem to vibrate on the same note. When I say “you,” I mean the group to which you all subjectively belong. They will be found if you work decisively and issue a note of unity so clearly that they will have no doubts about your motives and that your activities are truly selfless. Some of the one hundred and fifty-six that make up the current core will become known to you and will work in unison with you, though perhaps not in your specific field of activity.

The picture that is desirable to have before our eyes is an expanding global network of groups operating in a multitude of possible directions, but the heart, or basis, of each group is from one to several members of the gradually manifesting New Group of World Servers who work without seeking fame and constantly influence others through contact with the soul. These tricks, through which the Hierarchy is now trying to work, are telepathically united; exoterically, they must work in perfect mutual understanding, always adhering to the position of non-interference and giving each servant the right to teach his own group, as he sees fit. What terms he uses and what methods he uses, what people he inspires and selects for service, what truths he teaches and what the discipline of life demonstrates, does not concern anyone but the student himself.

Members of this group of New Age workers will, however, have some common characteristics. They will not impose dogmas and will focus on any doctrines or authorities. They will not be interested in the growth of their personal authority and will not rely on any traditional authority: neither religious, nor scientific, nor cultural, nor any other imposed forms of truth. There will be different ways of moving towards the perception of reality, and everyone will be free to choose their own. No discipline will be imposed by these employees on those who seek to cooperate with them. They will consider it of little value to imagine any person or leader as to how individuals in their particular field of activity should live and work, meditate and eat. The members of this new group work esoterically with souls, and they do not care about the personal lives of the aspirants they are trying to inspire.

This is the basic rule, and because of its failure, many worthy aspirants will have to be removed from this group of world ministers, which is now in the process of formation. The tendency to impose one's own point of view is indicative of a lack of understanding and will lead to the exclusion of many.

It is also necessary to find young promising aspirants and carefully instill new ideals in them. They must be trained to seek the divine and the good in all things, both in men and in circumstances. Such a breadth of vision, such a broad outlook, must be developed that will allow those who are striving to survive the current transition period, so that when they reach middle age, they will become the pillars of the power of the new world. Do not push them into the framework of ancient disciplines, teach them not to focus on diet, celibacy, favorable periods and seasons, so that they are not distracted from the new, sacred art of being and the miracle of being a soul.

Do not forget that when a person lives as a soul and, consequently, his whole personality is subordinated to the soul, then an unselfish goal, purity of life, compliance with the law, normally and automatically appear - and thus he is a real example of spiritual life. Food, for example, is often determined by climate and taste, and it is desirable that the food that maintains the physical body in such a state that it can effectively serve the race. Furthermore, the divine Son of God, when married, is certainly able to function as freely and effectively as in celibacy; he will not, however, prostitute his bodily faculties for carnal pleasures, will not violate established customs, or lower the standard which the world regards as superior and better. Too often, the essence was overlooked and the emphasis was on physical actions rather than the life of the aspirant. If attention is focused on the soul, the life of the physical plane is easily regulated. It will come to the realization that criticism or complacency bring more harm to the progress towards spiritual being than meat food.

Two rules of life activity should be taught to the young aspirant:

It should be taught to focus on constructive activity and to refrain from overthrowing the old way of life. It should be aimed at building for the sake of the future and at new thinking. He must be warned against wasting time fighting against what is undesirable, instead of which he must use all his energies to create a new temple of the Lord, through which glory can be manifested. Thus, public attention will gradually focus on the new and beautiful, and the old, consolidated forms will decline due to lack of attention and disappear.

He should also explain that fanatical commitment is in no way a sign of spiritual development. Therefore, he will not manifest it by using the words: I am "against" this or I am "for" that. Such concepts automatically generate hatred, attacks and a desire to resist change. They put the person who uses them in a position of confrontation. Every class of human beings is a group of brothers. Catholics, Jews, Gentiles, representatives of the West and the East are all sons of God.

As for the future of the global group we are discussing, much depends on two points:

First, individual students working in each country of the world need to learn about each other and then enter into a telepathic relationship. This may seem like a wonderful but impossible dream. I assure you it is not. The work of establishing such a connection may indeed progress slowly, but this connection is an inevitable consequence of the increasing sensitivity of all souls working in the world. The first sign of establishing this connection is the ability to instinctively recognize those who belong to this group when they meet or contact each other in the world. It can be felt as a flash of light, an instantaneous electrical interaction, a sudden realization of how close the views and goals are, a rare opportunity to help, or a desire to cooperate with each other in a job that everyone is aware of.

Disciples working everywhere recognise as soon as they meet that they are engaged in the same work, and consult one another about opportunities for cooperation and additional effort. In approximately thirty years, the connections between the members of such a group, however scattered around the world, will be so close that they will meet one another daily at an appointed time in a secret place. This will become possible only when the individual's soul–mind–brain triad is aligned and all its aspects are engaged simultaneously in contact with the other group members. At present, all the souls in the group of mystics work in unison. Many have also succeeded in establishing a close relationship between soul and mind; yet the lowest aspect of this aligned, connected triangle—the physical brain—still remains entirely unresponsive to the waves of force emanating from the higher aspects of the disciples who are thus laying the foundations of the civilisation of the New Age.

Therefore, the main task is to improve the mechanism of the brain, so that it can correctly register and transmit the effects and recognition of the soul and group goals. This implies:

1. Awakening to the conscious activity of the center between the eyebrows, which the eastern student calls the center of the ajna.

2. The subsequent submission of the activity of this center to the activity of the head center, so that both vibrate in unison. This leads to three consequences:

a) direct conscious alignment between the soul, mind and brain;

b) the emergence of a magnetic field covering both head centers and thereby directly affecting the pineal gland and pituitary gland;

c) awareness of this field of the joint activity of the two centers in two ways: as light in the head, the inner radiant sun, or as a dynamic energy center through which the will or purpose aspect of the soul can make its presence tangible.

      3. Developing the ability to allow a person to:

a) to use his mind in the chosen direction, or to turn it outward to the world of phenomena, or inwardly to the world of spiritual being;

(b) knowingly, of his own free will, to evoke the appropriate responsiveness of the physical brain so that it can accurately record any information coming from both the physical and the emotional, or astral, worlds;

intellectually distinguish all these spheres of activity of the senses.

This will eventually manifest itself in a new psychological approach that will emerge from the old one and combine the positions of a mechanistic, introspective and purely Oriental school, plus the conclusions of two new schools that will appear soon, but which are still too small to be named. They're just starting out. One school will study the energy aspects of the individual and his responsiveness to the energy of the universe into which he is immersed; the other will consider the individual as an electrical unit. Both of them will be quite one-sided, but someday the contributions of different schools will be combined into one synthetic representation.

The second requirement that the working students of this new group must fulfill in order to establish a connection with each other is to develop the ability to constantly and consistently hold in memory the events of both internal and external life. We call this continuity of consciousness, and by this we mean the ability to fully realize all events in all spheres and areas of human existence throughout the day. So far, almost everyone is far away. There is no awareness of real existence during sleep. So far, living in a dream is as much an illusion as any of the lower psychic experiences. Slowly increasing interest in dreams from the point of view of psychology and finding out their probable source are the first weak attempts at research on a truly scientific basis. There is no conscious recording of mental activity, for example, when the illusions of the emotional body occupy the advance stage. And what does the mind do during a long period of emotional turmoil? He has his own life and his own laws. What is the activity of the soul, when the person is engaged exclusively in his own affairs? Is it impossible to imagine a time when the development of consciousness will reach such a stage that the reactions of all the conductors of human nature will be perceived and all of them will be registered by the brain? People are already simultaneously aware of the activity of the physical plan and the emotional reaction. For most, this is a normal, normal state. And if two activities can be registered at the same time, then why can’t three or even four be registered? It is this future that awaits the race, and active students will be the first to discover and demonstrate such an expanded consciousness.

Thus, telepathic interconnection and enhanced susceptibility must be developed, and they are closely related to each other.

I have outlined what development the individual student will have in the near future. What will happen to the group in the near future?

First of all, the preliminary period of appearance in the public consciousness, that is, the period when the group will make its presence tangible. This will be done through the constant dissemination of new ideals and a relentless emphasis on the essential unity of all mankind, which will be promoted by the 425] that unifying sound that will be made by the members of the group there and there. At this stage, there should be no hasty work or any hasty actions. The growth of the group and its ideas should be slow and confident. The group already exists. It does not need design and organization, so none of you need to take any responsibility in this direction or try to encourage students who have chosen subjective work to seek public recognition. Such methods are not approved by the Elder Brothers of the race, and They themselves do not work like this.

Find out for yourself whether you approve of a new position, a new attitude to work and a subjective method, or whether you prefer to work in the old exoteric ambitious manner, building and nourishing the organization, forming a whole mechanism for performing work with the same methods. Remember that such groups are still very necessary and useful. It is not yet the New Age, and these little ones must not be left without support when new forces begin to act, and lose the nursery in which they still need to stay.

If the new way of working appeals to you, make sure that the individual is obeyed, that the meditative life becomes of paramount importance, that sensitivity to the subjective sphere is cultivated, and that any necessary external activities are carried out from the inner to the outer. Avoid falling into a state of purely mystical introspection, and also to the other extreme - into a state of excessive organizational activity, remembering that the life of true occult meditation must inevitably cause external events, but that these objective results are caused by internal growth, not external activity. The ancient scriptures state this truth in the following words: 

“When the sun rises in the abode of the person who serves, the path of life takes the place of the path of work. Then the tree of life grows until its branches shelter all the sons of humanity. The building of the Temple and the carrying of stones cease. Growing trees are seen; buildings disappear. Let the sun enter its appointed place, and in this day and this generation, tend the roots of growth.” 

Small groups are emerging all over the world, whose members respond to a new note and whose growth and joining a global group are watched by one or more working students. However, these disciples do not form groups; groups appear as one person, another awaken to a new vision or come into embodiment to take their place in the work and ensure the coming of a new era. Such groups are alien to the sense of separateness; they are also alien to personal or group ambitions; they recognize their oneness with all things and appear before the world as examples of pure life, constructive construction, creative activity characterized by a common goal, beauty and wide accommodation. Perhaps in the early stages of integration, they can best be described by the words "friendliness" and "coherence." They are not committed to dogmas or doctrines and do not require uttering the "shibboleth" *. Their outstanding characteristic will be individual and group freedom from the spirit of criticism. Such a lack of criticism will not be due to a lack of ability to see error or inconsistency with an idea; falsehood, impurity, and weakness will be recognized for what they are, but, when noticed, will awaken only a loving desire to help.

Gradually, groups will begin to learn about each other and meet each other at a certain time in a designated place. They will come to joint conferences without the desire to impress each other, without thinking about their numerical superiority; they will not seek to increase their ranks. Why would they do that if they all felt that they were members of a single global group? They will not seek to impose any doctrine of a doctrinal nature, and they will not try to show their erudition. They will meet solely to discuss ways to help the world, to create a platform so universal and composed of such basic truths that it will be understandable to everyone with all the variety of methods and terminology. They will try to use each other’s terms and get acquainted with each other’s approach to reality and symbolism.

It will gradually become clear what the special role and note of each group is, and when there is a need in any part of the world for any particular approach, specific note or method of interpretation, there will be an immediate joint impulse to facilitate the work that the group concerned could undertake in that place.

These groups, with a single subjective group of consciously living souls behind them, will be too busy with world service and the needs of people to waste time on trifles. During meetings, they will not have time to pay attention to the names of groups, insignia, regalia and differences in special terminology. The needs of the world, the prospects for its development, the rapid development of the consciousness of the human race and the dedication of humanity to spiritual realities will occupy their attention so much that they will not show interest in purely physical events, as well as emphasize their own personal growth. They will be well aware that responding to the world’s need with service and living in a state of focused meditation will ensure their growth. Their views are not about themselves, their good character or their individual achievements.

Later, as a result of their telepathic interrelation and their joint conferences, some esoteric groups and schools of improvement may appear in order to prepare them for world service more quickly. These schools will teach you how to meditate and intensify vibrations, the laws of the universe, and the proper use of color and sound. However, all this will be subordinated to the idea of service and spiritual growth of mankind. There will also gradually be schools of thought as described in the Occult Meditation Letters. 

But what is the point of predicting the future in more detail and painting an intriguing picture if at present the integration of the group of world mystics and its close unity is not yet a fait accompli?

World unity, brotherhood in its true sense, the growth of telepathic interaction, the elimination of the immaterial, what divides people’s thoughts and brings division into the physical plane, the emphasis on the fundamental truths of Timeless Wisdom, the demonstration of their true understanding, the realization of unity with the soul and the recognition of those who belong to the group of world Saviors are the nearest work that should occupy your attention.

This and only this should be devoted to everything that each of you can give - love and life, time and money.

This and only this justifies your existence and calls all who share these views to that absolute self-sacrifice which is so rare and so far reaching in its results. Putting everything you have at the feet of the Lord of Life so that the work of world salvation can move forward; eliminating everything that can interfere with your life, tirelessly giving everything you have, basing your life on the sacrifice and asking yourself all the time: what can I refuse to help better? - this is more than this, it is for all of you who hear the call and respond to the need and the opportunity.

 I would like to inform you that such a group is already in the process of formation and in due course it will develop its own “yoga”, a training school that will gradually replace the schools of Raja Yoga and Bhakti Yoga. The method of preparation will be given only to those who have developed their mind and learned to control emotions. That's the key to what's going on. This method of preparation will be the shortest, but not the easiest way to the goal. Only an intellectually developed person will be able to walk on it, only coordinated personalities will be considered suitable for teaching. The key note of the new yoga will be synthesis; its goal is the conscious development of intuition. This development will consist of acquiring two abilities: first, the development of intuition and true spiritual perception, and secondly, the qualified use of the mind as an interpretive agent.

In the book of Agni Yoga, some of the future teachings have been leaked, but only from the point of view of the Will aspect. There is not a single book in which any form was given "Yoga Synthesis". We had Bhakti Yoga, or union based on devotion. Raja Yoga, which is mind-based unity, is now emphasized. The expression "unity through synthesis" sounds like a tautology, but it is not. It is union through identification with the whole, not union through awareness or vision. Remember this difference well, for it is the secret of the next stage of development for the personalities of the race. The Bhagavad Gita basically gives the key to the yoga of devotion. Patanjali teaches mind yoga. In the Gospel story we see a description of awareness, but the key, or secret, of identification is still hidden. It is kept by several representatives of an integrating group of mystics and knowers, smelted in the crucible of their individual experience and so given to the world. But the time for that is not yet. The strength of the group, knowledge and intuitive perception must increase.

You may ask: What prevents a person from becoming a member of such a group? I want to emphasize that only four points prevent this.

The first is uncoordinated personality. This is necessarily accompanied by an untrained mind and weak intelligence.

The second: a sense of separateness, a sense of being exceptional or different from one’s fellow man.

Third: the presence of credo. No matter how good the formula of faith, it inevitably evokes a sense of exceptionalism. Some do not allow you to join the group.

Fourth, pride and ambition.

You ask again: What qualities are necessary? The rules are simple, there are only three. First, learn to practice non-harm; second, desire nothing for your separate self; and third, seek the sign of divinity in all things. Three simple rules, but very difficult to follow.

Behind this group of mystics, which includes thinkers in any field of human thought (I want to repeat the word thinkers) and human knowledge is the Hierarchy of Teachers, and between the group and the Hierarchy is a team of mentors, to which I belong. Mentors serve as intermediaries and transmitters of energy. Let me repeat and draw your attention to the fact that this slowly forming group is made up of all sorts of thinking, intellectually developed people. So far, and this may surprise some, there are not many occultists (so-called). This is explained by the fact that the number of Occultists in general is small in comparison with the human mass, as well as their tendency to sectarianism, exclusivity and confidence in their rightness. The group includes disinterested humanitarians, political leaders, economists and scientists of the laboratories of the world, church leaders and adherents of all world religions, as well as practical mystics and several occultists. Real occultists are rare.

The group is and will remain purely subjective. Its members communicate telepathically or recognize each other by the quality of the work they do in the outside world and the breadth of the range of the published note. The group is inspired from above by the souls of its members and the Great Ones and is driven to activity by the need of humanity itself. It consists of embodied conscious souls working through coordinated personalities. Its symbol is a golden triangle, which contains an equal-ended cross with a diamond at the top of the triangle. This symbol has never been reproduced in form. It shines over the heads of those who are part of the group, and no one (even the clairvoyant) can see it except the members of the group, and only if, for the purpose of the work, it is necessary to help one of the members of the group to know the other. The group’s motto is “Glory to One.”

I no longer have the right to inform you, but the above will give an idea of the reality of the work being done. This can be an incentive for a new effort on the part of all who are trying to equip themselves for selfless service.

Now we have to very briefly consider the two main types of energy, which in turn are composed of coordinated energies. It is so premature to consider this subject that it makes no sense for the aspirant to waste time studying it. It would take a volume to write down everything that can be stated on this subject; in this book one can give only a few broad generalizations and note some interesting facts. The main reason why it is undesirable to study these energies too deeply is that the Planetary Spirit, or Logos, and the Planetary Essence are two forms in active manifestation that respond most strongly to the influence of these energies. Man also responds to them, only subconsciously, because (by its formal nature) it is an integral part of planetary expression.

The Planetary Spirit is a Being who in previous ages has gone through a state of consciousness that we call human and has left it far behind. The source of its origin (using the personal pronoun only for terminological clarity) is outside the solar system; His life is focused on the planet. His consciousness is in realms that are inaccessible to the highest adept of our Planetary Hierarchy. The Planetary Entity is the aggregate of forms that form the form through which the Planetary Spirit is manifested, and is therefore a synthesis of the planetary physical, astral, and mental elementals. In relation to our subject matter, it may be said that this Essence is the totality of all the physical, etheric, astral, and mental forms which, when united, form our planet. Each of them embodies energy, and these two main streams, producing aspects of the form and consciousness of our planetary existence, have an impact on the human being. The life of the Planetary Spirit operates through the soul, and the life of the Planetary Essence is recorded through the mechanism of personality.

The quality of these energies is mainly astral-Buddhist, the direction of life forces and the general direction of impulses affecting humanity, in the present great cycle are the magnetic energy of the intuitive nature of the Planetary Logos and the mighty force of the astral body (the body of desire). In other words, the astral elemental, which embodies the nature of the desire of the Planetary Logos, is extremely powerful, especially in the present cycle, but the power of the spiritual intuitive nature of the One by whom we live and move and exist is steadily increasing. On the one hand, we are witnessing horrific manifestations of wild pleasure hunting, sex and crimes in the name of satisfying desire. This desire to satisfy desires characterizes our present civilization and has now reached a climax; one can even say that it is waning, no matter how little you feel it. At the same time, the door of initiation is open. Both of these possibilities (if you can call them that) are present at the same time, but the power of one decreases, and the tendency to the other increases. There's a way out.

The preceding paragraph summarizes the dominant planetary driving energies characteristic of evolution and notes the human response to them.

Solar energy also has a double effect. First, there is what should be called pranic action, the result of the influence of the solar force emanating from the physical Sun. It produces concrete results in objective forms called physical or life forms. Solar energy enters the human body through the spleen, as well as through the center between the shoulder blades; this center is located between the throat and heart centers on the spine, but closer to the heart than to the throat. Secondly, there are energies emanating from what is esoterically called the "heart of the Sun"; they flow through one or another of the seven planets in seven great streams and flow into the human soul, giving rise to that sensitivity which we call awareness. These seven types of energy produce seven types of souls or Rays, in this thought the mystery of the unity of souls is hidden. During the manifestation, due to the fact that there are seven types of energy effects on the matter of space, there are seven types of souls, seven areas of expression, seven degrees of consciousness and radiation characteristics. These differentiations are well known to be similar to the seven colors of a sunlit prism, or the seven colors of a rainbow.

Provisions for activities in the current Plan

In the realization of God’s Plan for our world, the First and Second Rays play a leading role. It would be interesting to see how this Plan is being implemented at the present time, as both the ray forces - force-will and love-wisdom - are especially active now. All those who act on other lines of force, both objectively and subjectively, have temporarily limited their interests and partially curtailed their previous activities, responding to the needs of the world. There is a Plan, the implementation of which now requires the attention and direct participation of all departments of world government. In any organized undertaking, in any large-scale work, there is always a priority of some factors over others, and this has never been more evident than in the implementation of the Hierarchical Plan at the present time.

In order for the teachings set forth in this treatise to achieve their goal, the mass of general occult information and universal concepts should contain such relevant and interesting information that will fill this treatise with the most practical meaning.

In the above, one of the first steps taken by the Hierarchy to implement the new Plan was outlined. This Plan was preliminarily formulated in 1900 at one of the major meetings of the Hierarchy, which is held every fourth century. In 1925, at the next great coordination meeting, a new, more detailed, Plan was discussed, in which the necessary changes were made (due to the results of the world war). This important Meeting took two decisions.

First, to achieve some very specific results, it was necessary for a certain period (until 1950) to unite the efforts of all members of the planetary Hierarchy in one direction. At this time, the Great One had to turn his attention to the expansion of the consciousness of mankind, trying to accelerate this process in order to expand the horizons of people’s thinking as widely as possible, strengthen their faith and self-confidence and stimulate the growth of knowledge. Some doubts had to be dispelled.

Secondly, it was decided to connect even more subjectively with each other the older students who are striving and workers in the world. To this end, all the Masters have established a subjective, intuitive, and sometimes telepathic connection between their personal groups of disciples. This is how a new group of world leaders came into being.

Thus, instead of the seven working groups in the world, which operated along the seven main lines of force - their place in the scheme was determined by their Ray - the Teachers, their students and subjects formed three main divisions in order to adequately solve the problems of the political, religious and educational sectors of human evolution.

At the same time, they organized a subsidiary group of World Servers who took on the function of communicators, interpreters and mediators between the inner active Hierarchy and the thinkers of the world, as well as the function of agents in each country and group. So all the groups that were inspired by the desire to serve and who (despite technological and methodological mistakes) brought at least some benefit to their fellows were involved in the flow of spiritual stimulation to increase their effectiveness. Groups that were crystallized and sectarian in general did not respond to the new impulse, but in each of them, even in the dead, there were those few who showed interest.

The approval of the new Plan automatically entailed increased training for those who, by all indications, responded to subjective and intuitively perceived influences. It was considered expedient to begin at an accelerated pace the development of the receptivity and some potential, but hidden abilities of mankind, and, in addition, to try to increase the sensitivity and spiritual receptivity of its most advanced representatives to a level that was hitherto the prerogative of a few mystics and intuitive people. This process has been going on for several years, and the results have exceeded expectations. The war that devastated the world cleared up a lot of garbage.

The plan of its authors covers three areas:

The first direction, political

It was supposed to develop and strengthen international consciousness. This corresponded to the line of force or will, control, or the line of the First Ray. Students and aspiring workers in the field of organization and the mass of idealists were involved in this activity, as well as the workers of the Seventh and Sixth Rays. Thus, in a single effort, these groups were united. As one of the sections of the work on the unity of nations, it was decided to clearly show the need for economic synthesis, so that the spirit inherent in such an organization as, say, the Red Cross could express its international character in interaction between nations. Needless to say, material pressure and tension, the collapse of old political parties and the breakdown of trade relations had to play a role. It was decided to show the inevitability of a spirit of interdependence and inter-relationship among peoples in order to make nations at the political level realize that isolationism, separatism and the cultivation of national egoism must be ended and that the national spirit, colored by a sense of superiority, class hatred and racial antagonism, impedes the proper development of mankind. It was supposed to convey to people that the greedy desire to expand their possessions is on the way to real expansion. Thus, the gradual formation of the Brotherhood of Peoples was planned, based on a common need, mutual understanding and mutual assistance.

The main task was seen in the establishment of the corresponding state of consciousness, and not in the construction of some impossible, mythical utopia or the creation of such material conditions that allow one group of its will-to-power to completely subordinate another group, forcibly, by force in one form or another, imposing a standard uniform state to everyone. Therefore, the necessary work entrusted to the New Group of World Servers is to proclaim such principles of national relations as can form the basis of a world state, or federation. This Group should bring them to the attention of the leaders of different countries in order (through them) to promote a slow and gradual awareness by the masses of the true meaning with such ease of the spoken but poorly understood word "Brotherhood".

This is probably one of the most difficult tasks the Organized Minds Community has ever set itself. For racial hatred and national aspirations are so strong, and the ignorance of the masses is so dense, that it took all the resources of those working in the line of government and power (the First Ray) to exert the necessary influence on the public consciousness. Much has yet to be destroyed before nations can take a fresh look at things and recognize the need for each other.

It is interesting to note that the representation of those who work with ideas and through ideas about controlled and benevolent power has materialized, in recent years, on the physical plane, as the dictatorship of the proletariat and the working people of the nation in Russia. This resulted in the overthrow of the power and rule of the aristocracy, the bourgeoisie and the intelligentsia, in the glorification of labor and the working people, and in the removal from the country (through death or expulsion) of its best representatives. But behind all the mistakes, the cruelty and the crudest materialism are great ideals: the satisfaction of the needs of all, the beauty of mutual service and the divinity of constructive work.

In Germany, this is expressed in the form of a dictatorship of racial superiority and an attempt to deify the race. Quite seriously, but without real understanding, one race is going to dictate the conditions to others, relying more on the persuasiveness of its arguments and achievements than only on war. However, the ideal of the superman refers to the true ideals and, of course, must be affirmed in the world. But people have temporarily forgotten that the attainment of superhuman status is a common goal and that Asians, Scandinavians, Jews and Gentiles, Americans and Anglo-Saxons, Africans and other peoples of the earth are all children of the same Father, fed from the same source of Life and saved by the same divine principle of Christ. Therefore, in any nation - so it always was and always will be - a superman can appear to join the ranks of the Spiritual Hierarchy and the New Group of World Servers.

In America, we see a dictatorship of organised business seeking to regulate and control every sphere of the nation’s economic life and, through experienced minds in government, penetrating deep into the very roots of national existence. That some may see this as a restriction of individual freedom is, relatively speaking, of no significance compared with the synthesis gradually taking shape, which subjectively helps to eradicate greed and end the exploitation of the majority by the minority. In Great Britain, there is a dictatorship of empire, if such a paradoxical expression may be allowed, but it is an empire of the middle classes, which balance and restrain. Other great experiments are being carried out in Italy, Turkey and elsewhere.

The organizers of these so different national movements are often quite unaware of the impulses that impel them to action, and are unable to explain the ideals of their aspirations except in terms of human ambition and lust for power. Yet, without realizing it, they actually perceive those great ideas that are sent to their minds by Minds behind the scenes. And though they respond to the ideas of the common good, the equality of all men, the superman, the same for all conditions of trade and the fair distribution of material goods, yet — and this is the whole point — having neither a firm idea of the inner synthesis of this work, nor a general idea of the source of the great concepts and the inner Brotherhood leading mankind to the Brotherhood of the external, they for the most part distort these great principles, understanding them only selfishly and applying them only to themselves. As a result, the fires of class hatred, racial antagonism and national pride are burning.

This is the problem that we have to solve in our time the Great. Relying on the systems of government and political systems that we are discussing, they will lead the nation to the realization of their essential unity, thus bringing closer “peace on earth, goodwill among people”, which we all dream of.

A careful study of what each nation stands for will reveal a lot and reveal a national image: an image of personal selfishness or an image of spiritual goals.

The United States of America has the sixth personal ray, hence the mass of their personal difficulties. Hence their strong desires for sexual manifestation and materiality, but materiality very different from the materiality of the Frenchman, since a citizen of the United States values money only for what they provide for his life, for the opportunities they provide. Hence also the rapid response of the American continent to any form of idealism, to the needs of others, even enemies, sympathy for all suffering and clear progress in the implementation of clearly formulated humane principles. You can call them the democratic ideal, but in reality it is something that grows out of democracy and eventually replaces it, the ideal of spiritual rule, the rule of the highest and spiritual people of the country. Hence, too, the unfulfilled esoteric motto of the United States: “I illuminate the Way.” All the various forms of government that exist in the world today are being transformed, after their great experiments and contributions, into the enlightened rule of enlightened minds of the age. This is certain and inevitable, and evidence of this fact can be observed today by those who have eyes to see and an inner vision developed.

Russia is of particular interest to mankind now, as it falls under the influence of both rays. Her ego ray is the seventh, and her personality ray is the sixth. Hence the terrible conflict between the fanatical cruelty of her sixth-beam regime and the spiritual non-harm as a basic principle of national ideology. Hence also the materialism of certain influential sections of its population and the essential brotherhood born of idealism and the mystical aspiration of the Russian genius, expressed through the Russian people as a whole. Hence the correctness of its spiritual motto, which has not yet been realized, but is realized noticeably for those of us who are able to see the inner side of life. The motto is: “I connect two paths.” The task of Russia, which will be fulfilled with understanding, is to unite the East and the West, as well as the worlds of desire and spiritual aspiration, fanaticism that engenders cruelty, and understanding that engenders love, pronounced materialism and perfect holiness, selfishness of the materialistic regime and unselfishness of mystical and spiritually thinking people - all in the most provocative and strange forms. Beyond the closed borders of this mysterious and beautiful country, a great spiritual conflict continues, and the extraordinary mystical spirit and correct religious orientation of the people are a firm guarantee of the emergence, in the end, of a true living religion and culture. From Russia, the symbol of the world Arjuna in a very specific sense, there will come a new magical religion, which I have often told you about. It will be the product of a great, imminent rapprochement between humanity and the Hierarchy. The whole world will be filled with the radiance of the Sun of Truth emanating from these two centers of spiritual power, saturating the light that has always shone in the East and will illuminate the West. Here I am not referring to the imposition of any political ideology, but to the emergence of a great spiritual religion that will justify the crucifixion of a great nation and reveal itself and focus in a great spiritual Light, a highly exalted living Russian representative of the true religion — a man many Russians have been waiting for and who will confirm the oldest prediction.

The genius of Germany in the past was often expressed through her fourth ray soul, and thanks to her power Germany made a great contribution in the field of music and philosophy. Her soul is not manifested at the present time, her violent personality has brought the greatest evil; however, as time passes and Germany learns the lessons that it must learn, the image of the soul will again be introduced into her consciousness; Germany needs to help regain a vision of this ideal. If the English ideal of justice (which is the image of the personal ray of England) can be transformed by its soul ray of love into a just reasonable world service, then England will give the world an image of that true management which is the genius of the British soul. If the idealism of the United States of America can be illuminated by the law of love rather than by personal expression, then the underlying image of the structure of the States can be seen in the lines of light, and our promise will be the coming racial light instead of the many dividing national lines. For now, it is the personal ray that controls the United States.

Germany is ruled by the Aries, combining the powerful influence of this first sign with the fourth ray of its soul (the Ray of Harmony through Conflict). A simple interpretation of this fact is that we are witnessing the beginning of a new phase, a new cycle in the history of the country, attracting attention because of the conflict taking place in it, which, in fact, is a process of soul disclosure. Germany is also ruled by Pisces interacting with the first ray of her personality. Ray of Power, Ray of Destroyer. The whole problem of Franco-German relations is connected with this fact, since the soul of France and the personality of Germany, ruled by Pisces, must eventually reach an agreement; is it not obvious that the true solution lies in the hands of France, which must allow its soul to gain control? That is why by the end of the Age of Pisces their relationship escalated. France has an integrated personality, while Germany does not. Concerns about the current situation should not lead to oblivion of the past. France should not forget Napoleon's wars, like Great Britain's - the Anglo-Boer War. All nations have many things in the past that they tend to forget, especially if they have learned the lessons of spiritual growth. The United States must not forget that it is a part of the European continent that has been transported across the ocean, and that the history of Europe, its successes, its mistakes and its sins, belong to it; many people forget this, thereby absolving themselves of responsibility. All events in the world today are global events, not events within a single continent or locality.

So Germany is governed by the following energies and forces, and consideration of the respective interconnections should prove interesting to an impartial student with an open mind:

b. Ray 4 - Harmony through Conflict, through Mercury; combined with a ray of soul, it intensifies conflict and generates tension between idealism and the actual state of affairs, between France and Germany and between groups within Germany itself.

c. Ray 7 - Ceremonial Order or Ritual, via Uranus. It acts on the masses as a whole, as it is a hierarchical ruler, and (in accordance with the point of evolution achieved by them) contributes to their easy standardization and subordination to the regime. The seventh ray also focuses or "roots the first ray", creating a powerful government of this nation.

Mr. Ray 2 — Love-Wisdom, through Jupiter and the Sun, ruler of the Lion. Thus, at this stage, the nation's personal ray and Berlin's personal ray are incentivized to manifest love-to-itself.

d. Ray 1 - Will or Power, through Pluto, as the ruler of Pisces, guiding the personality of the nation along with the deadly Scorpio. Scorpio is a personal sign of Berlin, also under the control of Pluto. This appalling activity of the destructive aspect, with regard to Germany, is compensated by the influence of Jupiter. The latter, however, is not very much. Everything suggests that the German people, not being an integrated race, is basically a victim and should be guided as easily to the right path as they were to their present condition. However, he was a good mediator, thanks to which the ancient Atlantic conflict could be besieged and brought to the surface, and the long-standing war between materialism and the Light Forces could finally end for this world cycle. As I said, Germany is mediumistic, as was her dictator; it was the influence of Aries and Leo that gave birth to the latter. The fish personality of Germany (the fish is the sign that governs mediumship) is responsible for its apparently superficial understanding of the essential problems and for the inability of its people and government to rely on principles. The influence of the sixth ray through Mars, squandered in the military sphere, and the lack of true spiritual love, replaced by sentimental personal devotion, temporarily explains the reluctance of the masses to defend the interests of the oppressed and higher principles. Many people in Germany understand the need for this, but the negative position of the fish personality creates a huge obstacle and confuses everyone who knows and loves the German people. Currently, the lower octave of influences of Mars, Leo and Pisces dominates. The influence of Scorpio, the sign of discipleship and one of the zodiac signs of death, can break this unfavorable situation.

The struggle for the soul of the people, for its control, is really going on in Berlin today, and much depends on the resolution of this conflict. France, whose soul is ruled by Pisces, the world Savior, can do much to reveal the fish personality of Germany. That is the complexity of the world problem. Great Britain, whose soul ray is ruled by Gemini (who symbolize both the nature of the soul and the nature of the individual), can help in many ways.

I cannot go any further on this subject, except to point out that for nations and individuals alike, the first great crisis in Scorpio on the path of discipleship determines the future.

As regards Great Britain, we shall note first of all that the Twins rule the soul of its people, and the Taurus governs the external material form of the nation; that is why the people of Great Britain appear before the world in the symbolic figure of John Boole, the embodiment of the British personality. Some astrologers believe that Britain is ruled by Aries, and this is true of that small part of her which is called England; but I am speaking of the empire as a whole, not of its parts. It was the influence of the Twins that gave the British the mobility and tirelessness that forced them to plow the ocean and go to the ends of the world, always returning to the center from which they emerged. That is the nature of this race. It was the influence of the Twins that gave rise, when viewed from a personal or lower point of view, to the often secretive, cunning diplomacy and skill that had characterized Britain’s political activism in the past. Gemini people are often not trusted, and in this sense the UK is no exception. Such distrust has been justified in the past, but it is now useless, since the nation is old and experienced and quickly learns its lessons. From the highest point of view, the Twins have not yet gained full control, since the soul of Britain is still only fighting for manifestation. For centuries, Taurus ruled with his material goals, possessive desires, arrogant will and persistent desire to possess what is desirable. Distribution and movement are the two qualities which Gemini and Taurus have endowed with race. London, the heart of the empire, is spiritually ruled by Leo and materially by Libra, so it is the soul of Great Britain that connects it with France and must spiritually support the lion personality of France. However, not the spiritual quality of this sign mainly determines the policy of Britain, but the aspect of Libra. The UK believes it maintains a balance of power between nations, enforces justice and points out how to enforce the law and keep order, but its twin nature sometimes outweighs and Taurus often blinds it. It is Leo who links London with Berlin, but it is Leo in his most self-affirming aspect — hence some difficulties, but hence the close inevitable connection between London, Paris and Berlin; this triangle of forces is the most powerful in Europe. These three cities determine the immediate fate of mankind, and the question arises again: will the decisions made be based on the good of the whole or only part of the whole?

It was the lion power of Great Britain that attracted the lion power of France and caused the Norman invasion in the eleventh century. I mention it because it illustrates the interconnection of these countries and its visible results, not because this long-standing event has any echo these days.

There is a much closer connection between the United States of America and Great Britain than between the continental powers, since the Twins rule both countries and their vibrations are often synchronous. True, the influence of Taurus on the United States is insignificant, and hence the misunderstanding often arising between these powers. They are very similar to each other, and their own well-being means so much to each of them, so much that even Gemini’s flexibility doesn’t help them understand each other’s actions and motives. But Boole’s arrogance and self-will must give way to a quick understanding, characteristic of the Gemini consciousness, that the British, with their temperament, are now hard to grasp. They are so sure of their own rightness, so convinced of their own wisdom, that they tend to forget that good intentions are often negated by bad methods. The British are fair and wise, but their self-sufficiency and unwillingness to delve into the point of view of other peoples does not contribute to world peace and testifies to the control of Taurus. I would add that there are no significant differences between the belief of the Germans that they are a superior race, the strong nationalism of the French, who regard their culture as superior to any other, the pride of the British, who consider themselves always right, and the noisy self-assertion of the United States, who consider themselves to be the hope of the world, and all of them equally testify to the control of the individual. And as you know, it must be overcome by all nations and individuals.

b. Ray 5 - Specific -Knowledge or Science, via Venus. It is interesting to note that it is this beam that closely connects Great Britain with France and is not at all among the influences acting on the German nation. Venus governs Taurus and Libra, as well as Gemini, hence the highly developed lower concrete mind of the British. However, their intuitive mind needs to develop.

c. Beam 3 - Active Knowledge or Attraction, through the Earth, as well as through the planet Saturn, one of the rulers of Libra. This is the key to why the British Empire has spread so widely across the Earth, for there is a close connection between the Earth as a whole and Britain. This ray also connects Britain with France's third-round personality.

Mr. Ray 1 - Will or Power, through the planet Vulcan. Here, in the first ray — going through Vulcan — very little of the Destroyer aspect as opposed to the planetary influence of Pluto, another agent of the first ray. This ruler of Taurus - a sign of British personality - reveals a connection with the first-beam personality of Germany. It forges a chain that binds the empire together by the will of the people.

d. Ray 2 — Love-Wisdom, through the Sun, the ruler of the Lion, guiding the soul of London and being a channel for the soul power of the British Empire, that is, the channel of love-wisdom, if it is actually manifested, and not controlled and suppressed by the influence of Libra.

e. Ray 7 - Ceremonial Order or Organized Ritual; it reaches our planet through Uranus and on the physical plane determines the control of the empire over its territories, the code of its laws - in alliance with the energy of Libra - as well as its love of order, thereby ensuring the full manifestation of the primary ray energies of the British Empire.

The study of the interactions of these forces and energies helps to understand Britain and its functions, shows its attractions, as well as the nearest ways to resolve contradictions, if love - the main driving force of the British soul - is allowed to manifest. Until now, it was Taurus, Leo and Libra that mainly determined Britain’s position, its decisions and actions. Will Britain be able to change and — by keeping the will-to-order and balance of the Libra — to eliminate the aspects of Taurus that make its strong personality stubbornly pursue what it wants? It is an irony of fate that a great nation, formerly one of the world's major aggressors, must now, with the help of France (with its very similar belligerence), end the period of aggression and usher in a century of cooperation, understanding and shared responsibility. The future of the world is now largely in the hands of France and the UK, and happiness will come when the spiritual energies of both countries are in control and personal goals and ambitions are forgotten.

So there are three great fusion energies or life centers on our planet:

a. Russia, a melting pot linking eastern Europe and northwestern Asia.

b. The United States (and later South America) is a melting pot linking central and western Europe and the entire Western Hemisphere.

c. The British Empire, fusing, connecting races and people all over the world.

In the hands of these nations lies the fate of the planet. They constitute the three major world blocks in terms of consciousness and at the angle of world synthesis. Other, smaller nations will participate in this synthesis completely independently and voluntarily, through the improvement of their national life in the interests of all mankind, guided by the desire to express and preserve the integrity of their soul and purified national aspiration (this purification is happening now). However, the key note of human life will be issued by Russia, Great Britain and the United States — not because of their power, historical past, material resources or territorial extent, but because they fuse many types of people, see their world purpose, have an unselfish intention and their governments understand their people well and work for the people. Their basic constitution, the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights are humane. Other nations will gradually adopt these fundamental spiritual demands or, if they are already based on these humane principles and not on the exploitation of the unfortunate majority by a powerful minority, will voluntarily cooperate with these great nations, with common goals and interests, until all the nations of the world see their clear perspective, overcome their selfish attitudes and agree to do a single thing for the benefit of the whole. Then humanity will enter the light of freedom, and the beauty and spiritual purpose unknown to it will be revealed.

The second direction, religious

The task of this direction is to spread the widest understanding of the nature of reality and accelerate the growth of spiritual consciousness. Although in a certain sense to smooth or eliminate religious differences is the most difficult, but in this hierarchical work has made real progress. Today, a huge number of people firmly believe in the brotherhood of religions. Although the intellectually undeveloped masses have little or no idea about spiritual things, it is easier for them to believe in one God and accept the idea of universal faith than any other idea. Many thousands of them are either outspoken agnostics or do not believe in anything at all. At the same time, other thousands are languishing under the rule of theology. Nevertheless, they carry within them the germ of the spirit of love, which under normal conditions contributes to the development of a host and intuitive consciousness. It is curious that in this respect the raging millions of the East present a greater problem for the Great than the peoples of the West. Due to their illiteracy, the masses in Asia are easily exploited and are under the rule of religious demagogues, fiery prophets and reactionaries and, as a result, completely unaware of what is happening in the world of religion.

Now this problem is actively solved by students or employees of the Second Ray. It is interesting to note that the successful breaking of old barriers and the widespread spiritual readiness in the West are mainly the result of the work of the Orientalists of France, Germany and England. It was they who revealed to the West the beauty of the literature of the East and thereby combined the spiritual truths of all ages with the truth of Christianity, showing that they are all equally progressive and valuable. The masses of people in India, China and North Africa now have to understand the inner meaning of their own beliefs and the role Christianity plays in the same great religious program. This is closely engaged in by some mentors on the Second Ray in India, Japan and Syria.

In the next decade, the work of the Brotherhood of Religions (which has its own external organizations) is significantly intensified. And soon the internal structure of the universal faith will be so clearly manifested in many thousands of minds that its external form will inevitably appear by the end of the century.

In the end, the internal structure of the World Federation of Nations will also be clearly defined, which will begin to take an external form by 2025. But do not rush to the conclusion that we will have a perfect world religion and a complete community of nations. Nature does not change so quickly. However, the concept itself, the idea will receive universal acceptance, approval and universal support by action, and with all these conditions, nothing can prevent the appearance of its final physical form for a new cycle.

The third area, science

The task of those acting in this direction is to expand the consciousness of man, so to expand his horizons to make possible the synthesis of the material and the immaterial. This will allow humanity to enter a new subjective sphere and achieve new states of awareness. This will be facilitated by workers in the field of education, science and psychology. Great things are happening at the present time, and the activities of the workers of the Third and Fifth Rays have never been so purposeful and so effective.

I have already said and I repeat that the workers of all the Rays are involved in the solution of the most important common task, the task for which the entire Christian era was leading and preparing. The seventh and sixth rays are engaged in the sphere of control and the creation of a new synthesis, therefore, the strength of all the workers of these directions is combined with the energy of the first ray. The energies of the aspirants and students of the Third and Fifth Rays are involved in expanding human consciousness, revealing the hidden wonders of the universe and accelerating the disclosure of dormant abilities in man. Awakened, these faculties will be the highest correspondence of the present senses and will lead man into the world behind the veil of ignorance and matter.

As you can see, the work on breaking down the barriers of national-group isolation and separatism is so intense that it requires combining the energies of three groups of performers. Therefore, seven groups of employees are organized as follows:

1. In the field of politics, the First, Sixth and Seventh Rays.

2. In the field of religion, the second and fourth rays.

3. In the field of education, the Third and Fifth Rays. 

Do not forget that, although the work is carried out in three areas of human thought and activity, but in general the common goal is to create a synthesis and vigorous preparation for such a wonderful revelation that it is simply impossible to talk about it in detail now. Its correct interpretation depends on inner growth and enlightenment. This growth is accelerating today and will make it easier to understand what lies ahead. Remember that revelation is rarely what is expected. Humanity will be given a light that will change its way of life, change its attitude to all spheres of life in the world and start a new era that will bring with it the ability to group synthesis and cooperation, as well as new mental abilities that will allow the mind to function equally easily in two directions: outside, in the world of manifested forms, and inside, in the world of synthesis, unity and spirit. A new approach to life will appear and will change value orientations, for life will acquire hitherto unknown meaning, the understanding of which will enrich our everyday experience. This is what the real workers are doing today.

In the previous pages I mentioned the need to dispel some doubts and now I want to briefly highlight three main issues, the clarification of which will facilitate and accelerate the coming of a new era with its new civilizations, new sciences and new religion. In the coming years, the most conservative people will have to think about solving three problems that are solved in a certain way for people who are intuitive and enlightened. These three problems can be considered the three main objects of attention of science, politics and religion. Their resolution will speed up and solve the world’s problems of governance, faith and matter. Please note the meaning and differences of the last three words.

Problem of ideas

After all, the main problem of governance in the world is the wise application of ideas. It is here that the power of speech is revealed, just as in religion or education the power of a written word, a printed page, is felt. In politics, the masses are ruled by the orators, and never has their influence been more evident than in modern times through the use of radio. Great ideas are poured into the public: the theories of dictatorship, communism, Nazism, fascism, Marxism, nationalism, the ideals of democracy. That one, then another group of thinkers offers their ways of managing the public, who do not even have time to understand them. Both racial hostility and personal preferences, and all sorts of illusions will find expression, deceiving those who are not able to think for themselves. Someone who has a well-hungered tongue, who knows how to play with words and is able to express people’s discontent, who skillfully juggles statistics, a fanatic offering a panacea for all social evils, a promoter of racial hatred — none of them will ever be left without followers. Such people easily shake the social balance and lead their frivolous supporters either to fleeting success and power, or to shame and oblivion.

Under the pressure of ideas, under constant pressure on the consciousness of the great concepts that underlie our evolutionary process, humanity learns to think, choose and build a reliable foundation. Thanks to the evolutionary advancement of these ideas, there is a steady approach to the freedom of thought (according to the ancient method of testing more and more new and discarding unsuitable concepts), which will allow humanity to build in strict accordance with the great thought patterns that are the basis of our external world. Attentive minds of the era are becoming more sensitive to these images, helping to recognize them and bring out of the darkness into the light of day individual minds. This is how the true images are revealed that move humanity towards its destination, the deeper the awareness that forms the racial types, and the synthetic understanding that will allow us to accept the idea of Brotherhood. This is how thoughts work, and the problem of ideas will be better understood until, as a result, we have trained intuitive workers and thinkers who can draw directly from the world of concepts (for all) ideas that will serve as a model for construction. I am aware that by such statements I am putting myself at risk of being accused of exaggerating and asserting the impossible, but time will confirm the truth of my predictions. The world is built on certain internal thoughts, in which its structure is laid. They caused the current wave of experiments with management around the world. But no one today teaches to penetrate the world of images and interpret ideas, so problems arise. Later, when people see the cause clearly, they will act wisely and carefully to prepare their Watchers and Messengers. It will be men and women who, at the behest of persistent intelligence, have awakened intuition. Their minds will be so devoted to the group good and free from any sense of isolation that they will not interfere with contact with the world of reality and inner truth. They will not necessarily be "religious" in the ordinary sense of the word, but will be distinguished by good will, a high level of mental development and a well-equipped mind. They will have neither personal ambition nor selfishness, but love for humanity and a desire to help it. These people are truly spiritual people.

The Problem of God

Another problem and another doubt in human consciousness will be solved in the world of religion. God will become an absolute reality, and all uncertainty in connection with Him will disappear. This God will not be national or racial, Christian, Hindu or Buddhist. It will not be the product of man’s creative imagination, nor the continuation of man’s own consciousness, but the Deity, who is the essence of life, the totality of all energies: the energy of life itself, the energy of love, the energy of intelligence and active experience, the energy that generates the interaction of the visible and the invisible. It will be a God who is without doubt transcendent, but equally immanent, a God so vast that Heaven will declare Him, and so hidden that the smallest child will know Him.

You ask how it is possible. I will give a simple, but so scientific and thoughtful answer that only a real experience of the described will allow you to appreciate it. Coming out of the flesh, a person can see and know God, but also being in the flesh, you can see with His inner eye. The physical eye is incapable of perceiving Deity, although there are signs of divinity in everything. But there is an eye, the development of which allows its owner to observe how God acts on the inner side of Life, in Himself and in all forms, for "if your eye is pure, your whole body will be light." And in this light we will see the Light and, therefore, God. The Divine is expressed by three words: electricity, light, and life, and their synthesis is God. By experiencing these three as one, we know God. We are already using and learning more and more about the lower of these three aspects. A correct understanding of electrical phenomena is about to reveal a second aspect, the light that will give us the key to a new era - an era of light, insight and revelation. Esotericists will probably understand what I mean, because they have to teach humanity to achieve true vision and use the “pure eye”. However, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that most real esotericists remain outside the scope of the mass of schools that call themselves “esoteric”.

The problem of immortality

The third doubt, doubt of immortality, will be dispelled by science in a short time. Some scientists will accept the immortality hypothesis as working for their research, which they will undertake, ready to learn, admit, and draw conclusions based on repeated evidence, so that they can then lay the foundation for a new hypothesis. In the near future, the fact of experiencing the moment of death and eternal existence will pass from the category of doubtful to the category of indisputable. A huge step forward will be made in resolving this problem. No one will doubt that, having thrown off the physical body, a person remains the same living conscious entity, continuing his existence in the sphere beyond the physical. He will still be considered alive and aware. Several factors will contribute to this view. Thanks to the development of the physical eyes, the ability will open (which has always been, but very little used) to observe the etheric body, the “double”, as it is sometimes called. It will be seen that the people in this body are in a certain spatial zone, leaving their dead physical bodies to decompose. Again, the people who will be more and more able to use the "pure eye," sometimes called the "reawakened third eye," will also testify in favor of immortality, since they will be able to see without difficulty those who have dropped not only the physical, but also the etheric body. The very fact of the large number of worthy witnesses will already be significant evidence. An important role will also be played by the discovery in the field of photography, where research is currently being conducted. And the use of departed from earthly life radio eventually initiates communication, which will develop into a real science.

Nevertheless, certain coming events will do more to lift the veil between the visible and the invisible than anything attempted before. About this I can only say that a certain illumination and the discovery of a particular radiation will give humanity a tremendous stimulus, raising it to a new level. The perception and contact then possible will allow humanity to see more deeply. As a result, the nature of the fourth dimension will be revealed, and the objective and subjective will unite in one new world. Death will lose its terrifying features, and fear of it will disappear.

People are so desperately demanding light, so fervently begging for relief from the current blindness, so eager to be freed from the surrounding chaos that they tend to forget that from the inside there are energetic response efforts and “pressure” of the Guardians of the Plan and their assistants. The need for their help is greater now than ever before, for humanity demands even more insistently the exercise of its privilege of light. This demand, together with the response of the waiting Hierarchy, must inevitably produce powerful results. The desire to know and the urge to learn are absolutely interconnected, being part of the natural process of conscious development. The next decades will be marked by an event with such broad and profound consequences that the current era will seem centuries of darkness. Science will penetrate deeper into the sphere of the immaterial and will work in such an environment and with such means that now we can not imagine. The discovery of the potentialities of the atom will produce a revolution, and, working with hitherto unknown energies and life forms, science will have to revise a lot. One of the discoveries of the Spiritualists will greatly facilitate contact with those who act outside the physical body, and a group of mediator mediums will work between scientists acting on the inner side of life and acting in the physical body. Truly esoteric schools will develop a technique for preparing and developing new abilities that will confirm old truths and turn human beliefs into confidence. The new knowledge that will be gained through the stimulating and occult scientific work of the division of religions, through spiritual ascent, will lead humanity to the Mountain of Transformation. Thanks to the work of the management department, people will be able to perceive those ideas that will help them take another step towards real mutual assistance at the international level.

I will try to explain to you the deepest task of the Brotherhood, so that you can connect to its solution. Humanity can serve as a power substation through which certain types of divine energy can flow to various forms of life of prehuman kingdoms. It takes a proper understanding and direction of these energies to put an end to the domination of decay and death. In this way, people will be able to connect the higher and lower manifestations of Life, but only after they connect (within themselves) their own higher and lower aspects. This is one of the indispensable tasks of all esoteric training. Man has the ability to function freely in both directions, easily in contact with the life of God, flowing through both superhuman and prehuman forms. That is the objective of this task.

The next few years will be marked by intense effort on the part of the Hierarchy and the New Group of World Servers. This work is designed for a certain period of time, after which it will stop and, subject to its effectiveness, employees will engage in larger-scale business. If the people of spiritual and intellectual composition fail now to begin the implementation of the Plan, to transfer it from the invisible to the visible, then we are waiting for a period of difficulties and a slowdown in growth, but there will be no complete collapse of civilization, as the panickers predict. But we should not predict failures and delays in carrying out plans carefully thought out by the Observers on the internal side. The students and the aspirants of the whole world are now being called to intensive work - this is the appeal of the Great Ones that I am trying to convey. Everyone is needed and therefore with hope and confidence must move forward. The hierarchy works in a concentrated way, trying to do everything for the successful implementation of the plan. There is a closer integration of the New Group of World Servers, whose work is carefully planned. London, New York and Geneva are the three centers of its activity, and in Darjeeling and Tokyo there is a gathering of forces.

I call upon thinkers all over the world to abandon sectarian and nationalist views and narrow passions and to work in a spirit of brotherhood within their particular nation, considering it an integral part of a great federation of nations - a federation that already exists on the internal side and expects only the activity of world thinkers to materialize on the external side. I encourage them to participate in the affairs of religion, working within the particular religion to which they belong by birth or choice, and to consider all other religions as part of a single world religion. They should know that the activities of their group, society or organization require their assistance only to the extent that the principles and methods of these associations serve the common good and the realization of the Brotherhood.

I ask you to reject all antagonism and antipathy, hatred and racial prejudice, and try to think in terms of a single family, a single life, a single humanity. There is no need for a sentimental or fanatical response to this call. I would like to remind you that humanity has been reduced to the current sad state of hatred and division. But I also want to remind you that there are enough people in the world today who have been liberated to change the views of humanity and public opinion, if, by mobilizing the will, they themselves try to correspond to what they know and believe.

I urge you not to be afraid to make sacrifices. Sacrifice yourself, your time, money and interests in order to carry these ideas to everyone around you and your group and thus awaken your fellows. Joint action is needed to repeat the ideas of brotherhood and unity over and over. Try to recognize your associates in all groups and support them. I ask you to close your mouth to the words of blasphemy and hatred and speak only in the spirit of brotherhood and group relations. And I ask you to try to make every day the beginning of a new life for you, opening up a new opportunity for you. Leave your petty affairs and sorrows, anxieties and suspicions for the sake of fulfilling an urgent task and serve the cult of unity, love and non-harm.

I also ask you to cut ties with all groups working for separation and destruction, even if they are acting out of the most sincere motives. Unite with those who work for creation, who do not fight with other groups and organizations, and who have eliminated the word “anti” from their vocabulary. Speak with those who, in a few words, but stubbornly, build a new order - an order that is based on love, allows you to build on the impulse of brotherhood and is able to establish fraternal relations based on the knowledge that we are all without exception and regardless of race - the children of the One Father. Join those who understand that you can no longer act with the old methods, but it’s time to give a chance to new ones.

If you can neither teach nor preach nor write, direct your efforts and money to enable others to do so. Sacrifice hours and minutes of your leisure time to free others to serve the Plan. Help with money so that the work of the representatives of the New Group of World Servers progresses faster. A lot of time is wasted. Many of you feel sorry for time and money. Give more than ever to promote the physical aspects of the work. Those who give away their meagerness release great power. And those who work on the inside are grateful to them - giving, tearing away from themselves the most necessary things. Others give too much and only if you do not have to sacrifice something. Let's end this situation. Give to the maximum, with justice and understanding, to accelerate the onset of the era of love and light. I don’t care what you give to or to whom. Give little if you don’t have time or money, much if you have a lot. Work and give, love and think, helping those groups that build, not destroy, love, not attack, raise, not overthrow. Do not fall for the bait of a plausible pretext for the need for destruction. It was certainly necessary, but its cycle is almost complete if you only realized it, and now it’s time to take the builders.

I urge you first of all to a deeper life. For the sake of your fellow men, strengthen your contact with your own soul so that you can participate in the acceptance of the general revelation and the carrying of the light. You can then use this new information and this new light to point the way to the rebellious seeker of our time. Those who are not ready for the coming events will be blinded by the light and be stunned by the opening miracle; they will be swept away by the living breath of God, and therefore we hope that you will prepare them for this event.

Before we continue, we will touch on the apparent contradictions that occur (and may later occur). We may say that some Ray is manifested, and elsewhere it may be said that it is not manifested. We can speak of its influence on a particular kingdom of nature, and later mention the primary influence of another Ray. But these are only apparent discrepancies, for the explanation of which a correct understanding of the Law of Cycles is necessary. Without understanding this fundamental Law of Periodicity (which is impossible without a developed fourth dimensional vision), it is not easy to avoid what looks like a contradiction. While one ray may be in embodiment and of paramount importance, the main cycle may be controlled by another, and then the first of these rays will be only a temporary aspect of the given cycle. For example, the Seventh Ray of the Ceremonial Organization is now gaining strength, and the Sixth Ray of Devotion is leaving the stage. However, it is the Sixth Ray that is now undergoing its main ray cycle, the influence of which will completely end no earlier than in 21000 years. And the same sixth ray may well be considered the sixth ray of Harmony through the Conflict, which has manifested itself for several millennia and will continue to operate for another 40000 years. At the same time, the Fourth Ray is not manifested, if we talk about its small cyclical influence.

I am well aware that all this completely confuses the newcomer to the occult, and only those students who are able to generalize the material and highlight the most basic provisions can get from these instructions a true idea of what is meant. If the reader wanders through a mass of possible interpretations and complexities of the details communicated, he will not be able to see clearly what is being said. If, on the other hand, he turns away from details and considers the solar plan in general, he will extract the information necessary for cooperation. Therefore, read constructively, not critically, knowing that it is not easy to see the Plan exactly as it exists in the minds of Builders working in close cooperation according to the initial Plan and at the same time purposefully and proactively carrying out their own undertakings. 

Three great discoveries are coming in the near future that will revolutionize modern thinking and life over the next two generations. One is already groped and is the subject of experiment and research - it is the release of the energy of the atom. It will completely change the economic and political situation in the world, since the latter largely depends on the former. Our mechanical civilization will be simplified, and an era free of the burden of money (whether or not possessed) will come, and the human family will universally recognize its status as a connecting kingdom between the three lower kingdoms of nature and the fifth, or spiritual, kingdom. There will be time and freedom for a soul culture that will replace our modern methods of education, and the unfolding of the soul’s abilities and the development of superhuman consciousness will everywhere capture the attention of teachers and students.

The second discovery will be made as a result of current research in light and color. The effects of color on people, animals, and units of the vegetable kingdom will be studied and the result will be the development of etheric vision, or the ability to see the next level of matter with physical eyes. More and more people will think and express themselves in terms of light, and the effect of further development in this area of human thinking will be triple: 

a) People will have ethereal vision; 

b) the vital or etheric body, which is the internal structure of forms, will be seen, paid attention to and studied in all the kingdoms of nature;  

c) it will break all barriers of race and all distinctions of colour; the essential brotherhood of mankind will be proved. We will see each other and all forms of divine manifestation as light units of varying degrees of brightness, and we will increasingly express and think in terms of electricity, electric tension, intensity, and energy. The age and status of man on the ladder of evolution will be determined and objectively evident; differences in the capabilities of old and young souls will be recognized and thus the rule of the enlightened will be restored on earth.

Note here that these discoveries will be the result of the work of scientists of the next two generations, the result of their efforts. Their work with the atom of substance, their investigations in the fields of electricity, light, and energy, must inevitably demonstrate the connection between forms, which is synonymous with brotherhood, and the existence of soul, inner light, and the radiance of all forms.

The third discovery, which is likely to be the last, will be more relevant to the realm of what occultists call magic. It will result from the study of sound and its effects, and will give man the most powerful instrument in the world of creation. Through the use of sound, the scientist of the future will achieve the desired results; through sound, a new field of discovery will be revealed; the sound produced by each form in all the kingdoms of nature will be studied and known; through it changes will be made and new forms will appear. Only one hint I can give here: the release of the energy of the atom will be connected with this new coming science of sound.

The significance of what has happened in the world over the past century in the field of sound has not yet been appreciated and understood. However, the terrible consequences are caused by the incredibly increased noise and sounds currently emanating from the planet. The roar of cars, the thundering of transport machinery in all parts of the world — trains, steamships and airplanes, the concentration of human sounds in crowded places like big cities, and at the same time, the widespread use of radio, bringing musical sounds to every home and on the streets, affect the bodies of people and all forms of life everywhere, which will become apparent only in time. Some forms of life in the animal kingdom, and mainly in the vegetable kingdom, will disappear, and the response of the human mechanism to the world of sound, noise, and music, into which it is increasingly immersed, will be extremely entertaining.

The development of these three branches of science will usher in a new age, bring about the necessary changes in the present transition period, and usher in a new era, the key note of which will be brotherhood, since it will become a proven fact of nature. It will be an age when man will walk in the light, for it will be a world of recognized inner radiance, when work in the world will be done through sound, and, in the end, through the use of words of power and the work of skillful magicians. These experienced workers with substance, who understand the nature of matter, who consider everything in terms of light and know the purpose of sound application, will bring such structural changes and material transformations that will lead to the emergence of a civilization corresponding to the work of the coming race. This work will consist in the conscious union of the soul with its vehicle of expression. A culture will be born that will move the undeveloped members of the race to a better manifestation and a more true expression of themselves - the realization of this is the privilege of the future generation of scientific researchers.

However, an outstanding feature of the upcoming cycle will be the development of psychology. It is about the emergence of a new factor from the point of view of the modern psychologist of the materialistic school - the recognition of the existence of the soul. The Mechanistic School of Psychologists has provided invaluable help, and the findings of behaviorists are essentially logical, although erroneous in their conclusions. They serve as a necessary brake on the development of a more speculative mystical school, which calls itself introspective. 

Like so much else in the world today, two great lines of thought, such as the mechanistic and introspective or subjective ones, form a third that embodies what is true in both approaches and adapts them to each other. On a large scale, this will be accomplished in the union of the West and the East, mysticism and occultism. We have no disagreement with either, but in the evolution of thinking, the main lines of ideas in our time are rapidly approaching each other and a synthesis arises that will become a solid basis for the approaching cycle.

Shambala

Let the purpose guide the little wills of men -

                                                           The goal, knowing which, is served by the Teachers.

Shambhala is simply a word that conveys the idea of the existence of a vast point, where the energies that are directed into it and brought together in it by the Planetary Logos in order to create a manifestation that is adequate to His unfolding intention and planetary service.

Shambhala is a state of consciousness, or a stage of conscious perception, characterized by a strong dynamic response to the Divine Purpose - a response that becomes possible when a synthesis of the Design and full spiritual interaction between those associated with Sanat Kumara is realized.

The only place of complete "peace"... is "the Center where the Will of God is known." The spiritual Hierarchy of our planet... is not the center of the world, but the very whirlpool of Love-driven Activity, the place where the energies coming from the Center of Divine Will and from humanity, the Center of Divine Mind converge.

The world as an expression of Shambhala’s will establishes balance, balance, synthesis and mutual understanding, and encourages people to call on God, which is essentially an action that evokes a response. This is the first great creative, magical work for which humanity is capable and which involves all three divine aspects in simultaneous activity corresponding to the Will of God.

Some key thoughts:

Shambhala is the location of the Purpose, or Design. It is a goal, or a plan that cannot be understood until you follow the plan. That is the key to understanding.

Shambhala is not the Way, but the Main Center in which energy is located in a bound, relatively static state - energy that is kept ready and used for the realization of creative goals through the focus of the Great Council, acting under the guiding eye of the Lord of the World.

Shambhala is the main point of tension on the planet. In this tension, the Loving Intellectual Will is defined and revealed, free from all willfulness and mental addictions.

Shambhala is the main receiving agent of the solar flow on the planet, but at the same time the main place of distribution of energies for the kingdoms of nature, including the fifth. From the point of tension are embodied and gradually manifested through the evolutionary processes of the life Plan of the Planetary Logos and His Will.

Shambhala receives energy from various Beings, or centers, expressing and energizing life, located in our solar system and outside it, that is, from Venus, from the Central Spiritual Sun, from those that determine our evolution of the constellations through which our Sun passes at the moment, from the Big Dipper and other cosmic centers. Sirius, such an important factor in the spiritual life of our planet, sends its energies directly through the Hierarchy, and they usually do not enter planetary life through Shambhala.

Shambhala is, symbolically speaking, the Head Center of our planetary Life, focusing Will, Love and Intelligence into one great and fundamental Intention and holding this focused point throughout the entire life cycle of the planet. This great Intention embodies the present Purpose, or Design, and is revealed through the realization of the Plan.

Shambhala, Hierarchy and Humanity

Behind the Hierarchy, the spiritual center of Love and Light, is another center, which has not yet been given a name in the West and which in the East is called Shambhala. Perhaps its western name is Shangri-Lha, a word universally recognized to mean the Center for Happiness and Purpose. Shambhala, or Shangri-Lha, is the place where God’s will is focused and from where His divine purpose is embodied. There the destinies of race and nations are decided, and from there their progress and political movements are directed, just as the cultural development and religious movements are directed through the second, or Hierarchical, centre of Love and Light, from which spiritual ideas are sent. Political and social ideologies and world religions, the Will of God and the Love of God, the purpose of the deity and the plans by which this goal is realized, all focus in the third center, that is, in Humanity, of which each of us, aware of it, is a part. Thus, there are three great spiritual centers on the planet: Shambhala, Spiritual Hierarchy, and Humanity.

In Shambhala, the Great Lives not only contemplate the entire manifestation entirely and without time limits, but also perceive the main evolutionary impulses that bring the developing world in line with the divine Will. They embody these impulses not in the form of progressives, but in the form of a single great divine and spiritual influence. It is probably easier for you to grasp this idea in terms of the Eternal AUM, the symbol of the Eternal Now. You have been told and shown that AUM consists of one basic sound, three smaller sounds, and seven secondary vibrational tones. This is also the case with the Will of God, embodied and synthesized by the Members of the Consultative Chamber. For Them, when They "keep the Will of God dissolved, it is a single pure note; when They see it in motion, it is three unchanging chords, carrying into all the worlds the Purpose of the ONE that dwells in the ages; when They induce this Will to manifest, it becomes the seven vibrating tones that carry the structure of the Plane into the reflected worlds. Thus the note, the three chords, and the seven tones carry out the Plan, reveal the Purpose, and indicate God’s Will.” This is a quote from one of the ancient Archives of the Lodge of Masters; it refers to the nature of Shambhala, its work and outgoing energies. 

The Shambhala, where the synthesis of understanding about our Earth takes place, is also the center where the Higher Will of the Solar Logos overshadows our Planetary Logos, which, as you know, is only the center in His great body of manifestation. You may not worry about learning this information; The Masters themselves are still studying the Will of the Planetary Logos; the objective task of Shambhala is the perception of the Solar Plan, a Plan that is being realized at the highest levels of our planetary system, just as the Will, the Goal, and the Shambhala Plan are being realized on the three lower planes of our planetary system. Again, this information is intended only to indicate the goals of the Hierarchy and those Designs that extend through time and space in the Mind of God Himself. 

The synonymic series given here can help you in developing synthetic thinking and thus can bring some enlightenment.

When you realize how difficult it is for you to understand the difference between unity and synthesis and how difficult it is for me to explain it to you, you will see how little you understand Shambhala’s intentions. So far, I can only say this: synthesis is what it is, while unity is achieved and is a reward for action and effort. The meaning of unity will be clarified as you progress along the Path of Initiation. When you direct yourself to the Path of Higher Evolution, synthesis will manifest. Saying more doesn’t make sense right now.

Divine Purpose, or Design

The energy emanating from Shambhala is divided into two incoming direct and different flows. One, manifesting as an energy that activates the pursuit of the Goal, is now pouring into the Hierarchy and into its seven main Ashrams; the other, manifesting as an energy that activates determination, or an enlightened inspired Will, reaches humanity directly through the New Group of World Servers. Up to now, these two streams have been joined into one stream of chambalistic power, pouring into the Hierarchy and coming in its undifferentiated form and quality into all the groups within the Hierarchy. Now the energy that carries the quality known to us as determination or what the average person means by the word “will” is poured into the New Group of World Servers, while the energy that activates the pursuit of the Goal, differentiated into seven streams, is poured into each of the “seven points of reception”, into the Ashrams of the Teachers who are in the “ring-not-crime” of the Hierarchy. These seven ways of realizing the Purpose, or the pursuit of the Goal, manifest themselves as seven energies that reorganize hierarchical enterprises and thus mark the dawn of the New Age. 

These seven ways of realizing the Purpose, or the pursuit of the Goal, are as follows:

1. The Unknown, Invisible, and Inaudible Purpose, or Design, of Sanata Kumara. This is the secret of life itself, known only to Him. In its initial phase of the present new manifestation of activity, this Design begins to manifest itself through Manu and Master Moria; it is behind this Design that the central mystery is hidden, to which all esoteric schools, if true in their primary impulse, will eventually arrive. We do not yet know what it is, but there is a hint in Rule XIII. 

2. The purpose or design underlying the revelation. This is somewhat new to you, as you tend to consider revelation as an end in itself. You rarely see it as a consequence of Sanat Kumara’s inner design. 

3. Unrecognized (yet) the Design, which awakened the creative activity of our Planetary Logos. This design set into motion the third aspect of the divine Trinity. The usual reasons advanced by the finite mind of man for explaining what is called "manifestation," and the duality of any existence and connection between Spirit and matter, are in no way a real explanation of the divine Purpose; they are based on man's own essential duality; they represent the highest explanation of his own divine nature that he is capable of at present. 

4. The Mysterious Purpose, or Design, that Activated the Pain Principle. Suffering and pain are necessary conditions for the realization of this Plan. The ability to suffer, which is the hallmark of humanity, is an outstanding conscious response to the environment of the fourth, or human, realm of nature. It relates to the development of the ability to think and consciously associate the cause with the consequence. 

5. The fifth great mystery underlying Sanat Kumara’s design is specifically related to the cyclical manifestation of all that exists in the three worlds of human evolution. It refers to what slowly enters into manifestation through the medium of the lower concrete mind, as it curbs desire and brings substance and matter into alignment with divine thought. The totality of the highest moments of human thought in all fields significantly affects what manifests itself on the physical plane in all the kingdoms of nature, is deposited in the form of civilization and culture and is the best response in these moments of man’s reception of cosmic impressions. Thus, the fifth goal is closely related to the creation of the “clothing of God”, the manifestation of His “clothing of beauty”, which is created and embodied by mankind acting as a receiver of ideas coming from superhuman kingdoms, then to influence prehuman kingdoms, prompting them to creative cooperation. 

6. It is difficult for me to convey any idea of the Purpose we shall now consider, since it is defined by the combined meanings of Desire, Will, Plan and Goal . . . Only when human beings come into contact with the Hierarchy, gradually enter into hierarchical life and begin to receive the higher initiations does the true nature of the divine Will become clear and the Purpose of Sanat Kumara reveal itself through an understanding of the Plan and subsequent cooperation with that Plan. All this is accomplished through the transmutation of desire into aspiration and then into firm determination. 

7. The final phase of the divine design is the hardest to point out, and when I say “point out,” I mean precisely this and nothing more definite and clear. Does anything mean to you that my statement that the ceremonial ritual of Sanat Kumara’s daily life, carried by music and sound carried on multi-colored waves crashing on the shores of the three worlds of human evolution, reveals, in the purest notes, tones, and shades, the deepest mystery behind His design? These words hardly mean anything to you and are perceived by you as a symbolic phrase, with which I tried to express the ineffable. But now I do not use symbols, but I state the exact fact. When beauty in any of its great forms strikes the imagination of man, it thus helps him to at least approximately feel the ritual of the daily existence of Sanat Kumara. I can't tell you anymore.

Here, then, are seven hints concerning the divine Purpose, or Design; each of the seven complements the other six. And when we try to understand the inner synthesis in its entirety, we get nothing more than a hint of the nature of the sublime consciousness that brought our planet to life, and all that is on it and within it.

Energy interrelations

The seventh kingdom of nature is the realm of Life, which fully cooperates with the group of Beings that make up the core of the Shambhala Council. This group revolves around the Lord of the World; Its consciousness and state of being are only beginning to be obscured by the most advanced members of the Hierarchy. The relationship of these Lives with the Lord of the World is similar and yet fundamentally different from the relationship of the Hierarchy with the three Great Masters: Christ, Manu, and Mahachohan. Through these three Masters, the energy emanating from Shambhala is poured out, transmitting the Plan of Sanat Kumara, His Plan of Life. What you call the "Plan" is the Hierarchy's response to the incoming purposeful Will of the Lord of Peace. Through Sanat Kumara, the Old Days (as He is called in the Bible), flows an energy that is still unknown to us, the expression of which are the three divine Aspects. He is the Keeper of the Will of the Great White Lodge on Sirius, and the maintenance of this "cosmic intention" is shared by the Action Buddhas and by those Great Council Members who possess such sublime consciousness and vibration that only once a year (through His messenger the Buddha) can touch the Hierarchy without endangering anyone.

During the Vesak holiday, a connection is established between three important factors for humanity:

At this point it is possible to come into contact with the Buddha, the incarnation, or agent, of the Forces of Light, and then it becomes possible to accept what they are seeking to transmit to humanity.

It is also possible to make contact with Christ, the embodiment of Love and Will of God and agent of the Spirit of Peace, and then it becomes possible to train humanity to accept this extraterrestrial type of energy.

Now, through Christ and Buddha, humanity can establish a close relationship with Shambhala and make its own contribution to planetary life as a world center. The expression of Will-to-Good by humanity, filled with Light and controlled by the Spirit of Peace, can powerfully emanate from this third planetary center. Thus, for the first time, humanity can begin to fulfill the task assigned to it as an intelligent and loving mediator between the Beings who have reached the higher states of planetary consciousness and superhuman states, and the prehuman kingdoms of nature. In the end, humanity will become a planetary savior.

The masses of people in the world want only one thing: peace. I do not say “peace” because it has several meanings that are misleading. The thinking people of all countries support the mass intention and determination to take, as far as possible, steps to guarantee peace on Earth through the expression of goodwill. Note this wording. The disciples working all over the world use all means at their disposal in the struggle for the spread of the Gospel of Sacrifice, since stability in the world can be based only on the sacrifice - the sacrifice of selfishness. These words contain the quintessence of demands on those whose duty it is to determine national or international policy and to take steps leading to the establishment of right human relations. Hierarchy no longer observes, waiting — today it acts with invigorating wisdom and firm determination, strengthening its workers in every sphere of human activity (political, religious, and educational) so that they can take the right actions and influence human minds in the right direction. 

A powerful first-beam activity comes into action - a manifestation of Will and the desire for the Goal. Christ, who is in charge of the Forces of Light, has authorized the Ashrams of the Masters to apply the energy of the First Ray of Power to strengthen all students in the field of administration and politics and to enlighten, if possible, the national legislatures by any means available, so that the strength of their words, the wisdom of their designs, and the breadth of their thinking may become effective enough that the "Cycle of Conferences and Conferences" now organized by statesmen of the world may be guided directly. It is necessary to somehow counter the selfishness of limited minds in the various legislative bodies of the world - that is the problem. 

Do not forget that this divine energy must have an effect on human minds; these minds together are the only available instrument by which the Will of God can express itself; they inevitably become susceptible to the stimulation and energetic effects of this effect, adapted to a particular type of mind. The response will be consistent with the quality and intent of these minds.

Foundational relationships

Each divine aspect has three complementary aspects, and on our planet, on the Cosmic physical plane, the lower aspect of Love (what we call Will-to-Good) is revealed. In the case of humanity struggling on the Cosmic physical plane, we subconsciously divide this Will-to-Good into three aspects; two of which we are only now beginning to comprehend as existing possibilities. The lower aspect we call good will, little revealing approach to the universal plan, or purpose, which it asserts; the second aspect we vaguely call Love and hope to demonstrate this Love through our acceptance into the Hierarchy; the higher aspect we call Will-to-Good, without defining it in any way, for even to the initiated of the Fifth degree it is not yet possible to truly comprehend the nature and purpose of that Will-to-Good activity.

Of course, I am not able to give a more or less true picture of internal events, phenomena in the life of our planetary Essence. I can only show and note that the world situation is only a manifestation of the reaction and response of the human race to the great parallel events affecting the following groups:

The radiating Avatar and Its Relation to the Lord of the World, our Planetary Logos.

Lords of Liberation, who dwell in concentration at His height; They begin to recognize the call of humanity and become more closely connected with the three Buddhas of Action.

The Great Council of Shambhala and the Planetary Hierarchy.

Buddha with His Arhats collaborating with Christ and His disciples, the Masters of Wisdom. 

Hierarchy, the embodiment of the fifth kingdom of nature, which has a magnetically attractive connection with humanity, the fourth kingdom. 

The impact of all these large groups of Lives on humanity and the consequences of this, manifested in the pre-human kingdoms. 

The study of the above in the concepts of forces and energies will give an idea of the hidden synthesis of interconnections and the unity of the whole.

As for the Hierarchy itself, esoterically and technically speaking, its members (many of them) “are drawn from the middle point of holiness and introduced into the Council of the Lord.” In other words, they move to higher work and become the guardians of the energy of the divine Will, not just the guardians of the energy of Love. From that time on, they work as units of Power, not just as units of Light. Their work becomes dynamic instead of remaining magnetically attractive, and is related to the aspect of Life itself, not just the aspect of Soul, or consciousness.

The Power of God's Will

(The Fate of the Nations, p. 17)

This is the energy that underlies the current global crisis. It is the will of God that must bring about in the consciousness of the race important radical changes that will completely change man’s attitude to life and his understanding of the spiritual, esoteric, subjective components of existence. It is this power (in conjunction with the power of the Second Ray) that will cause that colossal crisis in human consciousness, which we call the Second Crisis, the Initiation of the Race in the Mysteries of the Ages, into what has been hidden from the beginning.

The energy of the Will is the most powerful energy in the entire scheme of planetary existence. It is called the “Power of Shambhala”, and it is she who connects all lives into a single whole. In fact, it is life itself. By means of this life force, or divine Will (carrying out divine intention), Sanat Kumara achieves His ultimate goal. On a small scale, it is the use of one of the lowest aspects of the Will (human willfulness) that allows a person to carry out his plans and achieve his fixed goal - if he has one. If there is no will, the plan dies and the goal is not achieved. Even self-will is the true “life of the project” embodied by man. The moment Sanat Kumara attains His planetary goal, He will withdraw this mighty energy and (as a result of its withdrawal) destruction will follow. This shambalic power is held in check for fear of its too strong impact on the unprepared kingdoms of nature. This also applies to its impact on humanity.

The most powerful force flows into the world from Shambhala, the planetary center where the Will of God is known. Only twice in the history of our planet, this shambalic energy came directly: the first time - during the great crisis of mankind with the individualization of man in ancient Lemuria. The second time is in the Atlantic era, during the great struggle between the Lords of Light and the Lords of Matter, also called the Forces of Darkness. Now this power is again pouring out of the Sacred Center. It embodies the aspect of Will in today’s global crisis, and its side effects, or qualities, are:

Destruction of the unwanted and the preventing in the world (in modern forms of government, religion and society).

Synthesis by force connecting what has hitherto been disconnected.

Shambala power is so new and so difficult to recognize that it is not easy for mankind to recognize it as what it is - a manifestation of God's good will in a new and powerful vitality.

The energy of the First Divine aspect (Will or Power) is the energy that Shambhala is now applying with great caution. As you have already been informed, this is the energy of the Will, which represents the power of Life in all beings; in the past, it was allowed to touch nothing more than the "substance of humanity", having first passed through the Hierarchy. Recently, it was allowed, as an experiment, to make a direct impact, the consequence of which was a world war (1914-1945 years), which revealed the problem, provided an opportunity, cleared human thinking and old, decrepit civilization. This is a highly dangerous energy and cannot be applied on a larger scale until humanity has learned to respond more adequately to the energy of the Second aspect of Love-Wisdom and, therefore, to the rule of the Kingdom of God.

Release of Shambhala Force

E. P. Blavatsky (one of the first of the working students who acted on the embodying impulse and the First Ray energy that stimulated activity) outlined the general contours of the Plan, accepting the impressions that came from me. In more detail the structure of the Plan and the scope of the Hierarchy's intentions I have given in the books that A. A. Bailey. presented to the public under her own name (acting in accordance with my instructions). For the first time in human history, the design by which historical and psychological events took place in the past could be clearly traced as the basis of modern developments, and the mysterious Law of Karma was presented to the public in an accessible form. Furthermore, the present can also now be recognized as indicating the path to the future and revealing the pure Will-to-Good, animating the entire evolutionary process in which humanity (again for the first time in history) is consciously involved and cooperating. It was this participation in cooperation, even unconsciously, that allowed the Hierarchy to put an end to the long silence that had lasted since Atlantis; now the Masters can afford to restore the ancient "gift of secrets" and prepare humanity for a civilization that will be characterized by a constant intellectual perception of the truth, and that will cooperate with the manifested Ashrams throughout the world. 

Inner consolidation is now somewhat weakened if such an inappropriate expression can be used, and most Hierarchs divert their attention from receiving impressions from Shambhala and orient themselves towards the fourth kingdom of nature in a completely new direction. At the same time, a powerful minority of Teachers are in a much closer relationship with the Sanat Kumara Council.

Therefore, in each Ashram there is an intensive process of teaching in the same directions, which generates the "isolation" (in the occult sense) of some Masters and Initiates. They have been isolated in such a way as to make it easier for them to work with Shambhala; thus they can form a dynamic galvanic store of energy (the energy of the divine Will) and make it available for use by other members of the Hierarchy who are in "isolated unity" on the main paths of the Earth and exist "in the world, but not of the world." The assimilation of this lesson activates the sacrificial will of both groups of the Hierarchy; it is the connecting thread between them and the aspect of the antahkarana by which energy can flow from Shambhala in a new, electrifying way, through the above-mentioned hierarchical minority into a large group of Teachers, Initiates and disciples, who are entrusted with the task of consolidation. For the members of the Hierarchy, this forms a process of testing and testing that precedes and prepares for higher initiations.

The transmission of dynamic impressions from Shambhala is effected by large cycles, by cyclic waves; the latter are initiated outside planetary sources at the request, or call, of the Lord of Peace and His Helpers; they come after the "declaration of the will" in the Deliberation Chamber.

The energy going through the Hierarchy today - the energy of Love - is trying to merge with the energy coming from Shambhala, and is needed in order to correctly accept the shambalistic effect. Now the task of the Hierarchy is to produce a wise and adequate fusion, a fusion of the energies of Shambhala and the Hierarchy, and thus to soften the destructive process and proclaim the spirit of creation by activating the building and reconstructive forces of the Secondary Energy. The energy of Shambhala prepares the way for the creative energy of the Hierarchy. This has been the case since the beginning of time, but hierarchical cycles, although relatively frequent, did not coincide with the rare cycles of Shambhala. Over time, the shocks of shambalic force will increase, as people will develop the ability to perceive and withstand it. An experiment is being conducted to find out whether a person is able to receive this energy, its jolts, without the help of the Hierarchy. It may prove fruitless and premature, but conclusions have not yet been drawn, and the Lord of Shambhala, with His assistants and observing Hierarchs, is not discouraged by the first results. Humanity, contrary to expectations, responds well. Nevertheless, new forms are being created, and the forces of Shambhala, plus the leadership of the Hierarchy, contribute to the implementation of specifically planned urgent tasks.

You have already been informed that this force, at the beginning of this century, for the first time in history has had a direct impact on humanity. Up to now, it has influenced people in the three worlds of manifestation only after its adaptation, the lowering of the rate of vibration, through the passage through the great planetary center, which we call Hierarchy. The next direct impact of this force will occur in 1975, and then in 2000 Thanks to the spiritual growth of mankind, the risk will not be as great as the first time. Whenever it merges into the human consciousness, more or less completely begins to be perceived any aspect of the divine Plan. It is this energy that prompts the realization of the Synthesis, which includes everything in the circle of divine Love. After its first impact, human thinking has for a number of years, more than ever before, been concerned with the embodiment of the idea of unity and synthesis in all human relations, and one of the results of the influence of this energy has been the formation of the United Nations.

Application of Shambhala Force

It has been two thousand years since Christ made his first contact with the shambalic force in the Garden of Gethsemane, and thus, on behalf of mankind, made a connection that, even after twenty centuries, remains only a thin, fragile channel of energy transmission. 

Nevertheless, this Shamballic force is available for proper use, but the capacity to express it lies in understanding—as far as is possible at this intermediate stage of human evolution—and in group application. It is a unifying, synthesising force, but it can also be used to regulate and standardise. Allow me to repeat some key words concerning the use of Shamballic energy: Group Application and Group Understanding. 

It has been very difficult for mankind to understand the meaning of love. Consequently, his difficulties in understanding the essence of the Will will naturally be even greater. For the vast majority of people, true love remains just a theory. Love (as we usually understand it) manifests itself as a kind attitude to the formal aspect of life, to the personalities of people around us, in the desire to fulfill their obligations and in no way interfere with activities and relationships that contribute to the well-being of their fellows. It manifests itself in an effort to end abuse and provide materially more favorable conditions in the world; it manifests itself as maternal love and friendship, but so far very rarely as love between groups and peoples. It is the basis of Christian teaching (just as the divinely expressed Will will become the basis of the future world religion) and is the impulse that forms the basis of much useful work in the field of philanthropy and human well-being; however, true Love has never actually been manifested by anyone except Christ. 

You may ask, why am I emphasizing this supreme divine aspect? Why not wait until we learn more about Love and how to express it in our environment? Because Love in its true expression is needed today both as a driving force and as a purifying, clarifying agent.

Three emerging aspects of chambalistic life, quality and energy:

The will that determines the aspect of life.

A will that establishes the right human relationships.

The will that ultimately conquers death.

These three aspects are related to the three divine expressions of Spirit, Soul and Body; life, consciousness and form; and life, qualities and manifestations. This stage of the expression of Christ’s life has never been thoroughly explored, although even a partial understanding of it would help humanity to banish evil (individual, group, and planetary) to the place from which it came, and to free itself from the rampant fear that challenges God and man. 

Thus, the shambalic energy is connected with the vitality of humanity (through consciousness and form); we need not consider its connection with the rest of the manifested world; it concerns the establishment of correct human relations and is the condition of being that will eventually overcome the power of death. Thus, it induces, but does not coerce; it is a conscious goal, not an expression of desire. Desire operates from and through material forms upwards; The will acts downward, acting on the form, consciously moving the form towards the divine Goal. The first is calling and the second is calling. A massive and focused desire can summon the Will; Will, when called, puts an end to desire and becomes an immanent driving force, stabilizing, clarifying and, among other things, destroying. It is much more than what is said above, but it is all that a person can understand at the moment and for which he already has an instrument of understanding. The will awakened by the call must be focused in the Light of the Soul and is dedicated to the plans of the Light and the establishment of the right human relations, which must be used (with love) to eliminate what hinders the free flow of human life and what brings death (spiritual or real) to humanity. This is the Will that must be invoked and applied.

There is only one way to overcome the focused evil will that is able to respond to the shambalistic force: it is to oppose it to the equally focused spiritual will of receptive people of good will who are able to learn to respond to this type of new incoming energy, to call it and apply it. 

Thus you see that in discussing the terms "good will" and "will-to-good" my choice of a suitable expression was not accidental. I have always meant not just kindness and good intentions, but focused Will-to-Good, which can and should summon shambalic energy and use it to stop the forces of evil. 

I think this is a relatively new idea for many of you; for others it means little or nothing. Some may have faint glimpses of a new approach to God and service that — I want to repeat — can and should reshape, rebuild, and restore the world. I want to emphasize that contact with the Will aspect is only possible from the Mental plane, and therefore only those who work with the mind and through it can begin to approach this energy. Those who seek to invoke the power of Shambhala are coming close to the energy of fire. Fire is the symbol and quality of the Mental Plane. It was an outstanding aspect of the war. Fire is caused by physical means, and the help of the mineral kingdom in this matter was a great danger and a chosen means in this war. This is the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy that an attempt to destroy the Aryan race would be made by fire, just as ancient Atlantis was destroyed by water. However, fiery goodwill and conscious focused use of shambalic force are able to counter fire, and this must be done. 

I cannot tell you any more until you have taken the time to study what has been said and try to understand the use of the will, its nature, purpose, and relation to what you understand by the human will. You must consider how it should be applied and how mentally polarized aspirants and students can mentally focus this will and safely accept responsibility for its wise application. Later, when you learn more about it, I will be able to give you further knowledge on this issue. Anyway, I want to make a practical suggestion. Is there an organized group that will accept this problem as a topic for their meditation, and that will try to make themselves able to contact with and use the shambalic energy through proper understanding? Will it not be possible to gradually develop the theme of revelation of the divine Will, so that the whole subject will be ready for presentation to the thinking public when the peace treaty is signed? Something to think about in this regard. There are three aspects of the Will in the order presented above; there is individual preparation for the expression of this energy; there may be mature consideration of the Hierarchy's relationship to Shambhala, carried out in the course of the Masters' striving to achieve the divine Goal and become the Will Energy Distribution Agents. It is necessary to make an effort to somehow understand the nature of the direct influence of the First aspect on human consciousness, completely bypassing the hierarchical center, an influence completely devoid of the process of absorption and adaptation by the Hierarchy. I have already mentioned this direct contact; it can become even more immediate and complete with greater security provided by a more conscious approach on the part of the people.

The quality and impact of the power of Shambhala

Energy Purifying: This is the inherent power of the manifested universe, consistently and persistently adapting the substantial aspect to the spiritual through a process that we refer to as purification in relation to humanity. This implies the elimination of everything that keeps the nature of the deity from full expression.

Destruction Energy: This is the destruction that removes the forms themselves, encapsulating the inner spiritual Life and hiding the inner Light of the Soul. Therefore, this energy is one of the main aspects of the cleansing nature of the divine Life. Two points must be learned in connection with the destructive aspect of the Deity, as well as the aspects responsible for its appearance:

The destructive activity begins at the will of those who are members of the Shambhala Council and who work to bring forms in all prehuman kingdoms into conformity with the evolving Design. According to the Law of Cycles, this destructive energy comes into action, destroying the forms of life that prevent divine expression. It is also carried out by the will of humanity itself, which - according to the Law of Karma - makes a person the master of his own destiny, prompting him to initiate causes responsible for cyclical events and consequences in human affairs. 

Of course, there is a close connection between the First Ray of Will, or Power, energies concentrated in Shambhala, and the Law of Karma, especially on its planetary scale and in relation to advanced humanity. Two factors have subjectively and spiritually caused the present world crisis: the growth and development of the human family and (as has been said) the influx of shambalic force into our time, both as a result of the Law of Karma and the planned decision of the Great Council. 

Energy Forming: This energy activated the Great Ray Lives and gave a motivating impulse to what caused the manifestation. This is how the Seven Rays were manifested. The connection of the Spirit with matter has caused the natural process, which every time cyclically, according to the law, creates the manifested world as a field of development of the Soul and the area in which the divine Plan is realized through the medium of the Plan. 

It is these three energies that caused the world crisis, and it is useful for us to understand the real nature of the forces of Shambhala that affect our planetary life and decide human destiny.

Light can be seen as a symptom, a reaction

 to the meeting and subsequent merging of Spirit with matter.

Therefore, when this great point of fusion and the solar crisis (as it is, even if it causes a planetary crisis) appears in time and space, the Light of such intensity immediately appears that only those who know the Light of the Soul and are able to withstand the hierarchical Light can be trained to enter the Light of Shambhala, become part of it and appear in those "shining palaces where the Lighthouses move, conducting the Will of God." To convey this idea to you, let us say that it is only when the will of the individual and the will of the Soul merge together - awakened by Love - that the Light of the Soul dominates the material light of the individual. That's an important statement. Only when the will of the Monad and the will of the Hierarchy of Souls meet and merge "in the higher representatives" (if I can use a business phrase in this way) can the radiant Light of Life dominate the combined Light of Humanity and the Hierarchy. This group merger, a little bit of connection. 

Moreover, the first touch of the radiance of Shambhala contributes to the universal exposure of evil, a touch that now causes world concern and that has led to a distinction between good and evil; this touch is the determining factor behind so-called post-war planning and the ideas of reconstruction and world reconstruction that guide the best thinkers of mankind in our time. 

It should be carefully understood that evil (cosmic evil, or the source of planetary evil) is much closer to Shambhala than to Humanity. Great Lives are completely free from obsessions; Their vision is exceptionally simple; They deal only with the great simple duality of Spirit and matter, and not with the multitude of forms formed by the merging of both. The domination of matter over Spirit (and over its reflection, Soul) is what creates evil, and this is true of the development of both the individual and the group. "The lampstands that carry out the will of God" are free from the spell of evil. The light in which they move protects them, and their own innate, inherent radiance rejects evil. However, they "move alongside the evil to which all lesser forms are prone"; They are part of a large observing group that "moves forward in time and space"; its members follow the great war, the conflict that continues on Earth between the Forces of Light and the Forces of Evil. They have activated the Forces of Light on Earth, while the Forces of Evil are inherent in the substance itself, from which all the many forms of life are composed. 

At present the Great Council of Shambhala, which has hitherto operated through the Hierarchy, works with life within forms; these Lamps have to be extremely careful in their work, as they are aware of the danger of premature direct contact with humanity and the excessive stimulation resulting from it. One of the reasons for the current cataclysm is that humanity was considered able to receive, perceive the "touch of Shambhala" without the mediation of the Hierarchy, which was mandatory until now. The decision to make such a touch (which by its nature seems to be a great experiment) was made in 1825 at the next meeting of the Great Council, which takes place every hundred years. You know the results. They're in front of your eyes. The industrial movement began to take shape a hundred years ago and received great impetus as a result of this touch. The evils of nations - aggression, greed, intolerance and hatred - have risen like never before, and two world wars have occurred, one of which is still raging (written in October 1943). In parallel, the good has intensified, again in response to the divine "touching", resulting in the growth of understanding, the spread of idealism, the purification of the systems of our education and the implementation of reforms in all sections of human life. Everything is happening at an accelerated pace, while until 1825 such growth was not observed on a global scale. Knowledge of Hierarchy is also established on earth; facts about discipleship and initiation become common property; humanity has entered into a more intense Light. Good and evil are more clearly distinguished; light and darkness are more resolutely opposed to each other; right and wrong have acquired greater concreteness, and humanity as a whole sees the great problems of truth and love, sin and isolation on a world scale.

Two key concepts help harness Shambhala energy: group application and group understanding.

Group initiation

Always been dedicated. The divine Son of God always knew who he was. The initiate does not appear as a result of an evolutionary process. He is the cause of this process.

The work now being carried out by Shambhala and the Hierarchy in relation to humanity aims at developing group consciousness and forming numerous groups that will become living organisms rather than organizations; it will make group initiation possible and will ensure the correct and safe disclosure of some aspects of the Will.

Group initiation means that most members of the group are correctly oriented; that they accept the discipline that helps them prepare for the next great expansion of consciousness, and that none of them are able to deviate from the goal (note this word with its primary, or shambalic, meaning), regardless of what happens in their surroundings or personal lives. You need to understand this if you want to make the necessary progress.

To approach this subject from a different angle, the mental polarization of the student seeking to enter the hierarchical sphere of work brings together the consecration effort, which is a new achievement in the spiritual history of the planet and is the first step taken at this time on the inner and subtle planes to realize a certain great “Crisis of Initiation” affecting all three major planetary centers at the same time - an event hitherto unseen. Until 1875, initiation was a process of succession, and in most cases also individual. This situation is gradually changing. Groups are beginning to be admitted to initiation because they have become aware of and feel kinship and interconnections that are not kinship and interconnection of the student and the Master (as they were before), but which are based on the initiates of kinship and interconnection appearing in the group form, and which exist between Humanity, Hierarchy and Shambhala. These are those spiritual and subtle relationships and interconnections that today find expression on the physical plane in the worldwide effort to establish the right human relations.

The Fourteen Rules of Group Initiation are "Rules or Formulas of Approximation" and refer mainly to Shambhala or the aspect of Life and... the expression of the volitional aspect... Their execution provides the disclosure of group consciousness, because so far only in a group formation can one feel the power of the Will of Shambhala. Only a group that follows the proposed new way of working and strives for group initiation is able to appeal to Shambhala.

Group Will

It is these changes in the "moving, changing realities" of Soul consciousness and spiritual awareness of Hierarchy members that are responsible for new trends in the life of the Spirit and new methods of training students - for example, in such an experiment as the externalization of the Ashrams of the Teachers. It is this new view of living conditions as a result of the influx of new energies that causes the universal trend towards group awareness, and its highest result in the human family is the first steps towards group initiation. The concept of group initiation has never been heard of until now, except in connection with the highest initiations emanating from the center of Shambhala. Group initiation is based on a single and unified group will, aimed at serving humanity and based on loyalty, cooperation and interdependence.

The group recognizes the Plan and works under the pervasive influence of the Goal; the individual devotee works with the Plan. The group expression, which is inherent in the group at any point in time and space, corresponds to the Will of the One, "By whom we live and move and exist", - the Life of all things. The group can be, and often is, responsive to the "shining center", Shambhala, to which the devotee, by itself, inherently, is not able to respond. The individual must be protected by the group from the tremendous power emanating from Shambhala. It must be lowered for him by the process of distribution, in order not to allow it to be directed entirely to any one or all of his centers, but to be used at once for all members of the group. This is the key to the meaning of group work. One of its main functions is, esoterically speaking, to absorb, absorb, direct, and then redistribute energy.

The group of disciples must be distinguished, as I have already told you, by a pure understanding (pure reason), which will gradually supplant the motive which will eventually dissolve into the volitional aspect of the Monad, its main aspect. This, technically speaking, is Shambhala in relation to the Hierarchy. How, then, is the group will manifest in any ashram, or group, of the Master? Is it present in any form that is viable enough to condition group relations and unite all into a detachment of brethren moving forward into the Light? Does the spiritual will of individuals have such power that it nullifies personal reaction and leads to spiritual recognition, spiritual interaction and spiritual connection? Only by taking into account these fundamental achievements that allow the whole group to be in a “clear headlight”, the student is allowed to bring into the overall picture a personal perception of the idea, and then only because of the existence of temporary group imperfection.

1. The Monad connects the Initiate with the Will of God, with the Council of Shambhala, with the forces operating on the planet Pluto and another planet that should remain unnamed, as well as with the Central Spiritual Sun. 

2. The soul connects the initiate with the Love of God, with the aspect of the consciousness of the Deity, with the Hierarchy as a whole, into which he enters through the Ashram of the Teacher who helped him to accept initiation, with the planets Venus and Mercury, with the Sun Sirius and with the Heart of the Sun. 

3. Personality connects the initiate with the Mind of God, with the intelligent principle of planetary Life, with humanity as a whole, with Saturn and Mars, and with the physical Sun through its pranic aspect. 

4. The life aspect of the planet, or the great ocean of forces, in which all three aspects live and move and exist, connects the initiate with Life, which manifests through Shambhala, through Hierarchy, and through Humanity, thus forming part of the great totality of manifestation.

As the student builds a rainbow bridge, or antahkarana, and a group of students builds a group antahkarana, the aforementioned "Triad perception" becomes possible. When the student stretches the thread of living light (by the power of magnetic love) through the space separating the Triad from the personality, he discovers that he is part of the group. Group recognition - expressed at first weakly and thoughtlessly - is the factor that allows him to enter the fixed thread in the Ashram of the Teacher.

According to ancient teaching, the Master’s Ashram and the Hierarchy’s focus were on the higher levels of the Mental Plane. That's not true now. They are on the Buddhi plane, the plane of spiritual love, intuition, buddhi. Hierarchy simultaneously ascends to the higher center, Shambhala, and advances to the lower center, Humanity. Both of these advancements have been made possible by man himself; humanity’s increasing intuitive receptivity in its most evolved representatives allows it to advance on the Path of Discipleship at even higher levels than ever before. This is recognized by the Hierarchy. The growing aspiration of the masses also draws the Masters closer to humanity than ever before. This is an example of the ability of the initiate to function simultaneously both at the levels of his initiation and in the three worlds. The symbol of this ability is the dual activity of the mind acting as common sense when it deals with everything that happens in the three worlds, and at the same time as perceiving the spiritual mind when it deals with everything that is related to the Soul, Light, and Enlightenment.

The second requirement is that a sense of synthesis be the ultimate goal of training candidates in the New Age. His appearance is a direct testimony to the new touch of Shambhala, since synthesis is an attribute of the divine Will and an outstanding quality of the Divine. The revelation of Mind and Love was bound to be the evolutionary tasks on the planet and the first two divine aspects to be developed, for they are qualities of the Will; they make possible the manifestation of the Divine Will; they provide its reasonable application and its magnetic ability to attract to itself whatever is necessary for the expression of the divinely perceptible Goal, visualized synthetically and motivated, embodied, adapted and conditioned by the same dynamic aspect. 

It is interesting to note that today there is evidence in the world that the energy of Shambhala is directly introduced into human consciousness, producing immediate results. The destructive aspect of the First Ray of Will, or Power, causes destruction in the world through the use of the first, mineral kingdom of nature. What is made of metals and chemical substances brings disaster and destruction to the Earth, especially in the human kingdom. At the same time, the second attribute of the Will - synthesis - causes an equally wide response. It is interesting and important to note that nowadays the mass effect of the sense of synthesis is manifested earlier than the individual. Later, the dynamism inherent in the Will possessed by the New Group of World Servers, as well as the disciples and devotees of the world, transforms the instinctive mass response into an actual experience and will cause the “appearance” on Earth of a new developed “quality” that Life seeks to manifest in the New Age. In the first volume of the Treatise, I drew attention to three divine aspects: Life, Quality, and Manifestation. Now they are in the process of their maximum manifestation in this particular cycle.

Humanity is developing so successfully that today the goals and theories, tasks and intentions expressed in human thinking and books have shown that the Will aspect of the deity, in its first embryonic manifestation, began to make its presence tangible. Have you seen the signs of this? Have you realized that the rise of the masses and their determination to overcome all the difficulties and obstacles to achieve a better world state point to this? Have you noticed that the revolutions of the past two centuries are signs of the manifestation of the Spiritual aspect? This Spirit is Life and Will; the world today shows evidence of new life. Think about it in a modern and current application and try to see the path that the world moves on, inspired by the Spiritual Will.

Group training

What are some of the new truths that I am responsible for as someone who passes them on to students of occultism? Let us briefly list them in order of importance:

1. Teachings about Shambhala. Nothing was ever given about her. Only the name was known. Teaching includes:

• Information about the nature of the will aspect.

• Indications of Sanat Kumara's Hidden Targets.

• A guide to building antahkarana as a first step to attaining monadic consciousness and thereby to the Path of Higher Evolution.

2. Teaching of a New Learning. It is revolutionary in comparison with the old schools of occultism.

3. The Seven Rays . . . 

4. Teachings on New Astrology.

5. Information about the New Group of World Servers and its work . . .

6. An attempt to form exoteric offshoots of the inner Ashrams. It is attested by the work I have done with a special group of aspiring and accepted disciples; the instructions emanating from my Ashram are published in the book Discipleship in the New Age (vols.

7. The doctrine of the New World Religion, with emphasis on the three major full moons (in Aries, Taurus, and Gemini, being generally in April, May, and June, respectively) and nine (sometimes ten) minor full moons in the year.

It is difficult for students of esotericism to understand that future Enlightenment Schools will emphasize the Life aspect rather than the contact with the Soul. The goal will be the ascension of life, not union with the Soul. Today’s aspirants and students are basically a consequence of the old teaching method, a product of the processes that humanity has undergone. Now is the fundamental period of transition; the disciples and the seekers of peace are now, figuratively speaking, at the same stage as the group we are considering - at the stage of transferring life from the external form to the inner essence. Hence the difficulty facing all of us and the urgent task of being realistic about what I am trying to communicate. The problem of contact with the Soul is something you are able to understand and understand, at least theoretically. The problem of transferring life from the highest point of the current achievement to some unknown mystical spiritual focus is not so easy to understand.

The individual student who seeks initiation voluntarily and through a completely free choice integrates into the group; he achieves such fusion by his own individual effort and (throughout the process) is a completely free agent moving forward; he becomes mentally focused as quickly or slowly as he seeks it. He himself determines the time and time of achieving the result, without the intervention of any external force or obstacles on its part. 

This is a relatively new spiritual technique, already adopted by initiates and students of all degrees in all three Divine Centers.

The stage of recognition of revelation, which opens to the initiate in the main Mysteries, is itself divided into smaller phases. There are three of them, although much depends on which initiation is accepted and on which ray the student is prepared. These are:

1. Stage of penetration. Refers to the passage through the world obsession, thereby achieving two goals:

The Light of the Spiritual Triad is directed into the consciousness of the initiate through the antahkarana, so that the Plan for humanity and the divine Goal for the planet become clearer. This initiates a connection with Shambhala.

Part of the world's obsession is thus dissipated, and hence there is a clarification on the astral plane, and this is the service of humanity. Every student who comes to recognize the revelation available to the initiate releases the Light and dispels some of the delusion that blinds the masses of people. The disciple of the Sixth Ray lingers much longer at this stage of penetration than the disciples on other Rays, but this happens only in this world cycle.

2. Stage of Polarization. This is the stage at which the initiate, who has entered the Light and penetrated the dense fogs and clouds of the world of delusion, suddenly realizes what he has just done, and takes a strong position, correctly oriented in the direction of what he has seen (or, in other words, in the direction of Shambhala). One point to be grasped is that, since the initiate is the point of hierarchical life (on the periphery of the Hierarchy, or within the circle, or in the center), he represents a certain part of the hierarchical effort. This effort is directed towards the orientation to the great center of life - Shambhala. Students tend to think that the orientation of the Hierarchy is directed at humanity. That's not true. The members of the Hierarchy respond to human need when the demand is effective, and are the guardians of the Plan; but the orientation of the whole hierarchical group is directed to the First aspect, as it expresses the Will of the Logos and manifests through Shambhala. Just as the disciple must do two things: polarize, or mark, his position, establish right human relations, and at the same time become a conscious, practicing member of the Kingdom of God, the Hierarchy, so the initiate - on the highest turn of the spiral - must establish right relations with the Hierarchy and become simultaneously aware of Shambhala. 

All I can indicate here is the desired point of attainment; the terminology used to do so, however, means relatively little except to those experienced in the process of initiation, to a greater or lesser degree according to the initiations they have already taken. This polarisation, point of focused effort or attained orientation is the basic idea underlying the phrase “Mountain of Initiation”. The initiate “plants his feet firmly on the mountain summit and, from this high point, perceives the thoughts of God, contemplates visions within the Mind of God, follows the eye of God from the central point to the outer goal, and perceives himself as all that is, yet still within the whole.

3. Stage of sedimentation. Having thus identified himself by penetration and polarization with the Plane and with the Will of God (which is the key to Shambhala), he then proceeds, as a result of triple recognition, to realize his participation in the materialization of the Plane and to introduce into the external manifestation and expression of so much of this Plane as it is sufficient for. Thus, he becomes first of all an outpost of the Hierarchy (which necessarily implies sensitivity to the energy of Shambhala) and increasingly an Agent of Light - the Light of the Universal, or the Light of the Monad.

Today I will no longer talk about dedication. Think about what I have given and see, as far as you are able in your imagination, the magnificence of the initiation process - much more inclusive than all the teachings have previously indicated. After the war is over and the new world with its emerging civilization and culture begins to take shape, there will be an increasing emphasis on the Goal of the Almighty Deity, or Basic Life, or Energy, as it is embodied through humanity. This will be done by those who are trained esotericists. Much of what is now being said by world leaders and ministers in every nation is evidence that there is an unconscious response to the energy of Shambhala. By the end of the century and during the first few decades of the twenty-first century, the teaching of Shambhala will be given further. The efforts of the abstract mind of man will be directed towards the comprehension of this teaching, just as the desire to reach contact with the Hierarchy directs the effort of the disciple at the present time. The obsession disappears; the illusions are in a state of dispersion; the stage of penetration into a new dimension, of entering a new phase of effort and achievement, is increasingly asserting itself. This is done in spite of all the horror and agony, and it will be one of the first results of a respite from war. The war itself destroys the illusions, revealing the need for change, causing the demand for a new future world and the coming beauty of life, which will be a revolutionary and materialized response to the intense process of initiation, in which all students can take part and for which advanced aspirants can prepare themselves.

The mystery of higher initiations lies in the qualified use of the higher Will. It does not consist in purification or inner discipline or any other means that hastened the attainment of truth in the past. The whole problem of attaining the Shambala Will is in the process of being revealed and will eventually change the whole attitude of the disciple of the New Age towards initiation. The theme of “Ways to Shambhala” requires thoughtful study and esoteric understanding. In this conception of a new, next segment (if I may call it that) of the Way, or the Path to which the modern disciple enters, is the mystery of the coming revelation and spiritual heritage, which will become apparent as mankind builds the civilization of the new world and creates a new culture. The burning, purifying, destructive effects of the monadic Will on one’s distorted reflection, the individual will, deserve deep reflection.

The Will leads down the Path to Shambhala and is the foundation for any approach, perception and identification with Being.

In Shambhala, figuratively speaking, there are three doors:

1. There is a door of Reason, a pure perception of truth. Christ gave the key to this teaching when He said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life.” We know much about this Path, because there are many teachings about the Path that, if followed, lead a person into the Hierarchy; then he actually becomes part of a hierarchical body. We know little about this truth. The truth, as we understand it in the early stages of the Path of Discipleship, includes great truths which (from the perspective of the Enlightened Ones) constitute but the ABC of life. These truths are as follows:

The manifestation of God on the physical plane.

The Avatar Doctrine. It is revealed by the history of religions.

The nature of consciousness, which is understood through the development of psychology.

Doctrine of the Trinity, its manifestation through aspects and attributes.

These four expressions of truth contain all the knowledge that an initiate must possess as he ascends the Mount of Transfiguration during the Third Initiation. They give him a spiritual perception of the Plan.

We know nothing about this life. Reflecting on its essence is the work of those who move at will in the “borders of the Lord of Life” - in Shambhala itself. All we can know about her is her lower level. The latter allows us to study the impulse, or instinct, which enables all forms of life to function, which embodies the principles of responsiveness to contacts and surroundings and which incarnates in the life breath; it is also connected in some mysterious way with air and fire. It is useless to talk about this subject.

2. There is also a will door. It is a penetrating force that connects the Plan with the Goal and gives the ability to connect existence. The reason for its existence is that it does not depend on the content of the form - whether it is the form of an atom, a person or a planet - but on the vital, dynamic, unchanging Design hidden in the consciousness of the planetary Being, who, "by establishing this world, the whole-standing, a part of Himself," remains unchanged - greater, incomprehensible and "firm in intention" than any of His creations. Only they have a clear perception of His divine purpose, which far surpassed in the development of our earthly humanity. These are the Lives that came with Him to our planet and will remain with Him as “captives of loving intention” until the last “tired wanderer finds his way home.” 

This Spiritual Will is something about which humanity knows nothing; it is hidden, veiled by the will of the individual and the group will of the Soul. The human being goes through both of these experiences until his individual will is developed, established, focused, and reoriented, and his group will not be revealed in a way that absorbs, absorbs the dedicated, conscious individual will. After such a fusion (at the Third Initiation), there is a great revelation and for the first time the initiate feels and then comes into contact with the Universal Will; from this moment the initiate exclaims "Father, not my will, but Thy will be done." Only a little bit about what this Will is, we can catch as we study the Seventh and some subsequent rules.

3. I cannot find the words to express the nature of the third door. For lack of a better term, let us call it the door of the monadic perception of essential duality. Life and body, the soul and personality, the spiritual triad and its expression, Christ in embodiment, all these dualities played a role. Man has gone from one expansion of consciousness to another. Now he approaches the basic duality of Spirit and matter before they are resolved into something to which the concepts of "isolated unity" and "universal synthesis" are only weak inadequate hints. On the development of this method of identification dedicated to the degree of the Teacher of Wisdom, as well as (at the highest turn of the spiral) the degree of Christ concentrates all his efforts. Up to the Fourth Initiation, the concept of the “expansion method” is a clarification of the essence of the matter; after this great initiation, the concept of the “identification method” becomes more suitable.

When the initiate, symbolically speaking, has passed through three doors, he looks at any life, events, predestination, wisdom, activity, any service and progress that may be outlined in the future, from the standpoint of pure reason (infallible and immutable), the real spiritual Will (fully identified with the Purpose of the Planetary Logos), from the highest point of view. The mystery of relationships is revealed to him. The whole scheme of evolution and intention of the One by whom he lives and moves and exists becomes clear to him; he has nothing more to learn in this planetary scheme; he has found a universal attitude towards all forms of life, and is also identified with the “isolated unity” of Sanat Kumara. Few of the Great Lives that form the inner group of the Shambhala Council Chamber are now more advanced than he is; The "Heavenly Three," the "Clustered Seven," the "Lifes embodying the forty-nine Lights," the "Buddhas of Action," and some "Eternal Spirits" from centres of dynamic spiritual life such as Sirius, or from the constellation which at any time constitutes a triangle with our Sun and Sirius, as well as the Representative from Venus, are advanced more, much more. In other words, all the initiates of the Sixth Degree and some of the Masters who have undergone special training, as they are on the First Ray of Will, or Power (the Ray characterizing Shambhala itself), form part of the Great Council. However, many Teachers and Chohans, having served on the planet in different qualities, according to the Law of Evolution, completely leave our planetary life.

The key to all the work Shambala requires is to develop the Art of Visualization. It is through visualization that three expressions of human consciousness will become possible:

1. Antahkarana will be able to build and the radiance of the Triad - specifically see. This will be a new vision - the result of the development of a sense of vision.

2. Groups, large aggregates and the main synthesis will also be visualized, which will lead to a noticeable expansion of consciousness. This will reveal the feeling of synthesis.

3. All creativity will be stimulated by such training, and a new art of the future will quickly develop in all types of creativity. Uncovering the sense of vision and the sense of synthesis through visualization will lead to the emergence of a sense of life in form.

Initiation can now be accepted in a group form; it is something entirely new in the work of the Hierarchy. Candidates appear before the Initiator not one after another, but at the same time in a group. Together they can think in perfect harmony; together they are tested, and together they reach the "point of triumph" that displaces the "point of tension"; together they see the "radiant Star", and all together the energy emanating from the Wand of Initiation prepares for the perception of the specialized energy to be used in their future world service. Group approach, group intention, “group silent restraint and sound recognition”, group dedication and vision are no longer in the experimental stage. Such a group achievement (I don’t mean your group that wasn’t particularly successful here) marks the point from which a new phase of activity in Shambhala can begin. It will enable our Lord of the World to become the Ruler of the Sacred Planet, since the Earth is not yet such. Our Earth can now become a Sacred Planet if all the necessary conditions are met. The new divine quality (still undiscovered and inaccessible to our discernment, even if it were presented to us) is slowly crystallized into expression through this accelerated bestowal process. The disciples today witness the manifestation of this solar quality through the planetary Logos, just as the "Life of similar Intention" - as they are esoterically called - witnessed such a manifestation many eons ago. It is to this unknown and mysterious quality that the “radiation” of the Star indicates.

. . In the world of Shambhala there is nothing of the nature of the phenomenal world of man in three worlds, or even in the world of the soul. It is a world of pure energy, light, and directed power; it can be seen as a collection of flows and centers of power that, all together, form a pattern of perfect beauty, and they are all potentially invoked to the world of the soul and the world of phenomena; therefore, it, in the most real sense, constitutes a world of causes and bestowal.
